JOIN OUR TUNNEL AND UNDERGROUND INFRASTRUCTURE DEPARTMENT IN LYNGBY
In Tunnel and Underground Infrastructure, you will become part of COWI's Tunnels unit. Tunnel and Underground Infrastructure numbers more than 100 skilled experts worldwide, and we are among the tunnelling departments with the largest capacity in the world. We are experienced in all types of tunnels in sectors ranging from highways, metros and cavernisation to energy and power, and we cover the entire lifecycle of a project from idea, concept and design to operation and maintenance.
DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Head of Section. Your primary role will be to accountable for producing designs and calculations for a variety of tunnel and underground structures projects.
In this role, you demonstrate your experience from structural design on a variety of projects from around the globe within tunnelling and underground infrastructure (metro stations, C&C tunnels). You will work in a highly international environment, covering all main design services.

In this role, you demonstrate your experience from structural design on a variety of projects from around the globe within tunnelling and underground infrastructure (metro stations, C&C tunnels). You will work in a highly international environment, covering all main design services.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical input to assigned projects
- Detailed design and analysis of reinforced concrete structures and preparing / checking of calculations and drawings, writing reports
- Assisting in the development of conceptual design and producing engineering designs and details in accordance with the project requirements
- Performing and reviewing calculations for analysis
- Ensuring conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Site visits and attending client meetings, building relationships with clients and other stakeholders.

Furthermore, you should:
- Hold a master's degree in civil engineering and have design experience across a range of tunnel and underground engineering structures on multidisciplinary projects, with experience on designing complex concrete structures
- Have 5-10 years of experience in material and concrete durability assignments along with the experience of structural design of reinforced concrete
- Have experience with temporary structures (e.g. formwork, bracing, fences, cranes, etc.) and experience in constructability of details (e.g. reinforcement detailing, water tightness details, movement/construction joints, etc.)
- Have proven concrete design skills and possess direct experience within a design and build environment
- Possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards
- Be experienced in FEM design (ROBOT or similar software) along with CAD/BIM experience from AutoCAD/Revit/Civil 3D is an advantage
- Possess excellent reporting and communication skills in both personal and written form with the ability to work independently, i.e. coordinating reports, submissions and feed-back from clients
