Data Architect for Wealth Middle Office and Data Technology in [xxxxx]

In [xxxxx] we are experiencing strong progress and we are looking for an experienced data architect to help us enact on our cloud based data strategy. In the spring of 2024, we launched our Wealth Management platform program in which we together with SimCorp will be implementing an entirely new installation of SimCorp Dimension (as SaaS), as well as migrating an on-prem data platform (based on SQL Server) to Azure Cloud. Details of the role
As our data architect your responsibilities will include driving our Cloud journey as well as obtaining an in-depth understanding of our current data platform (based on SQL Server on-prem). As our data architect you will be a part of defining the building blocks and accelerate our value stream teams in our unit. Currently, we are in the process of defining and assigning responsibility of data products (based on SimCorp Dimension data) across our value stream teams, and we would like you to be a part of that journey and set the direction. In addition, we expect that you are able to comply with and drive the software and architecture approval processes in a large financial institution like [xxxxx].

You will be part of a unit consisting of two value stream teams. One of them is supporting the Middle Office processes, and the other one Market Data processes across entire [xxxxx].

Technical insight and good relations
You think analytically and can break down issues into manageable sizes, and you speak and write English and/or Danish fluently. We are looking for a structured person with a genuine interest for this area who can make improvements and accelerate our teams. In addition, you have a relevant educational background within software development or data science and several years of experience in designing and working with complex, data-heavy systems. Furthermore, you have experience with several of the following:

Technologies

• Data frameworks and tooling such as Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, dbt.
• Azure (AKS, Fabric, Synapse).
• Languages: Python, C#, SQL, Docker, Terraform.

Skills

• Previous experience as a Data Architect/Engineer or in comparable positions.
• In-depth knowledge about micro services, including REST APIs, event-driven applications, batch jobs, and orchestration.
• Knowledge of traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of CI/CD and proficiency in modern build, test, and deployment tools.
• Understanding of infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar tools).
• Knowledge about DataMesh or DaaP (Data as a Product) principles.
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Nice-to-have skills

• Wealth Management and SimCorp Dimension.
• Data Vault 1.0 & 2.0 modeling.

Organization and workplace
You will be part of a great and international unit in Wealth Technology, which consists of data engineers, software engineers, SimCorp Dimension specialists and product owners. The position is based in our new headquarters in Nordhavn in Copenhagen. In [xxxxx], we prefer to work together in the office, but you may work from home 1-2 days a week.
