As Master Data Manager, you will become a part of the Digital & IT division, which is the central organization that supports and collaborates with all the business divisions to develop Semco Maritime’s core business. The division works with a continuous focus on optimizing internal processes and delivering business-crucial IT solutions.
The role of Master Data Manager is new to the organization, which means that you will have great influence in creating the role and defining its responsibilities. This also means that you will have to be able to create the new ”space”, especially in the organization outside Digital & IT.
You will step into an interesting and challenging job in an international company that strives to provide innovative and sustainable solutions globally. You will experience a high level of involvement and influence as you work together as a team to find the best solutions. As Semco Maritime is a global company with offices in Denmark, Norway, the UK and Asia, you must have strong English skills in both writing and speaking.
You will work from Semco Maritime’s nice headquarter in Esbjerg Harbour, and once you have completed your onboarding program, you will have the opportunity to work from home two days a week.
Tasks and responsibilities
As Semco Maritime’s new Master Data Manager, you will be the technical owner of the data architecture and help the business with the definition and models for master data. You will also work to identify the dataflow as it is today and design the future setup.
As data is the one underlying and shared value in all Semco’s application processes, they are eager to kick off a new focus on data and how they use it. It is crucial that your heart beats for on data, but it is just as important that you have the skills to facilitate and drive the data maturity forward through collaboration, communication and facilitation in a complex and wide stakeholder setup.
We expect that your focus will be to:
Most importantly, we expect that you will take ownership of the data by acting both as a data architect and a significant contributor on the BI initiative, which will be a focal point during the current strategy period.
Who are you?
We imagine that you are an experienced Master Data Manager with excellent analytical and communication skills.
You should also possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with master data projects and implementation of master data platforms

- Define and implement a data strategy and governance

Who are you?
We imagine that you are an experienced Master Data Manager with excellent analytical and communication skills.
You should also possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with master data projects and implementation of master data platforms
- A strong skill set in analyzing, interpreting and organising large amounts of data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex problems into easy-to-communicate language using non-technical terms
- An in-depth understanding of modern databases and information technologies, and excellent maths, problem-solving and analytical skills
- The ability to act as the data architect on new initiatives and as the technical lead on BI/Master data projects
- Thrives in a changing environment
- Progress-oriented with a high level of drive – is self-driven and good at seeing the big picture
