The Chapter Lead will be responsible for development of craftmanship and the data platform to support data needs across DFDS.
This is an exciting position, where you will be working as a playing coach – using your exceptional technical knowledge to build solutions, while also setting the technical agenda and taking people management responsibility.
You will take full ownership for developing our data platform while also supporting adoption of the platform. The ideal candidate will thrive in a position that both requires technical excellence and the ability to work with people development.
Main responsibilities
The two main responsibilities are to develop our technical platform to support the continuously evolving business needs, while also developing your team of 10 highly skilled Data Engineers.
The team delivers data to a wide range of analytics solutions across DFDS, while also supporting our data science initiatives.
In addition to the above, you will also:

The perfect candidate for the job has a desire to make a difference by enabling the data driven organization.
You have extensive experience working both with centralized and decentralized data platforms.
Ideally you are already in a lead position with some people (and/or stakeholder) management experience. Alternatively, you have matured from a technical role and are now ready to take on your first position that also includes people management.

Brings ample drive and engagement to influence the rest of the team. Strikes the balance between technical excellence and being pragmatic enough to deliver results. - Be responsible for both the technical implementation and ensuring excellence through processes and competences in the implementation of the new data platform
- Take ownership of the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Continuous development of our ways of working to ensure an attractive working environment and optimize value creation for our customers
Preferred professional candidate
The perfect candidate for the job has a desire to make a difference by enabling the data driven organization.
You have extensive experience working both with centralized and decentralized data platforms.
Ideally you are already in a lead position with some people (and/or stakeholder) management experience. Alternatively, you have matured from a technical role and are now ready to take on your first position that also includes people management.
Ideally you:
- Have hands on experience with traditional BI / data warehousing technologies (our BI platform is primarily based on the Microsoft BI stack)
- Have experience with modernizing a traditional BI stack or experience working on a more modern analytics approach in general
- Have experience with AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms and event driven architectures
- Have experience with data platforms build around the data fabric or data mesh architecture
- Are familiar with large and complex system landscapes
- Are used to working with multiple stakeholders
- Have experience or interest in working with people development
