Are you ready to be a part of innovative change in hearing aid technology? Join our world-class R&D department and make a real difference in the lives of hearing-impaired people. And if enhancing data handling and analysis and having a big influence on our direction motivates you, then read on!
“We ensure that the hearing instrument sounds exactly as intended. We develop cutting-edge algorithms, test them, and constantly push the boundaries of what’s possible.” says your new manager, Director, Audiological Solutions, Caroline Vaughan and continues "You not only get to work with the latest technology, but also with the foremost experts in their field. We want to be better every day because in the end, our work enhances people's quality of life."
Welcome to Audiological Solutions
You will be part of a small Data Insights team in the Audiological Solutions Group. The team is a part of the Audiological Solutions group, a part of the R&D unit Device software. This group is responsible for innovating and designing all audiological solutions of our hearing aid products.
The team assists to maintain our data infrastructure, in collaboration with similar teams in other parts of the organization and prepares data to be used in development of audiological features for Oticon’s Hearing Instrument portfolio being sold world-wide. The team also supports in data analysis and training for the developers who are designing the algorithms we use in the signal processing of our hearing instruments.
"We achieve our goals by working closely together, providing feedback, and sharing knowledge to continuously improve our products." adds Caroline.
We are organized according to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). No worries if you’re unfamiliar with SAFe—our training program will get you up to speed. You’ll join a scrum team with a dedicated Product Owner and Scrum Master, working with multiple stakeholders across several scrum teams, organized in an Agile Release Train.
Taking our data handling to the next level
You will have a key role in elevating our data handling and analysis to the next level. You will be lead developer in growing our data infrastructure and the team. We are looking for someone who enjoys and can take a technical leadership role, can support our vision and guide us in how we can get there. Our vision is to improve the Hearing Instrument experience through audiology based on data driven insights and features.
“We work on data from different data sources with varying quality and complexity, so if cleaning data, structuring data for easy data usage or writing functions that enables us to "unpack" data from complex structures is something you enjoy doing, then this is really a good and exciting opportunity for you” says Caroline
In this role you will be bridge between data and audiological development and ensure that our audiological development teams have access to relevant data of a quality suitable for development purposes. This could mean:
You will also work with other data teams to continuously maintain the data platform, and look for ways to improve the quality of the relevant data, and ensure a pipeline structure with unit testing of code, data quality monitoring etc.
Engineer with an analytical mindset
You have degree in Engineering with a background in data engineering, data science, machine learning or similar. If you haven’t already worked with audiological systems, then you should have a keen interest in going in this direction.
You bring an analytical mindset, are skilled at working with complex datasets, and have a deep understanding of Python (using libraries such as PySpark and Pandas) and SQL/SparkSQL. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), GIT, and PowerBI is also essential.
In our medical device industry, high-quality work and thorough documentation are paramount. You share this commitment and are eager to contribute to continuous improvements in how we handle data.
Want to join us?
Please send your application as soon as possible, as we are screening applications on a continuous basis. Deadline for the application is 30th October. We will be conducting interview in November. Please note, that we only accept applications via our online recruitment system.
