The Challenge and Opportunity
In this newly established role, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing commercial strategic initiatives that provide Terma with a competitive advantage and strengthen our position in the market. You will work closely with the senior management level in the commercial organization and Executive Management to analyze the current business model, identify growth and efficiency opportunities, and develop tailored strategies that address specific needs and goals. Your insights and expertise will contribute to shaping decision-making processes and guiding the growth of the commercial organization and Terma Group.

You will lead a team (to be established) focusing on customer and market intelligence, collect market trends, competitive insights, and market share information across our business areas. The team members will be allocated as business partners to each Business Area (BA) to create the right level of information sharing, but methodology and ways of working will be defined and implemented by you.

This market and competitor insight will be the data foundation for creating world class commercial strategies within the BAs and across Terma.

Your areas of responsibility:
The VP of Commercial Insights & Strategy will report to the Executive Vice President of our global commercial organization, and your core responsibilities will cover:

  • Define the data-centric approach to competitor and market analyses and drive the strategic market intelligence effort through structured customer, market & competitor monitoring.
  • Act as a best-practice intelligence knowledge center and share information across BAs and with Product Management, hence support/contribute to improved commercial decision making.
  • Produce data based commercial intel to enable formulation of stronger value propositions, G2M, and portfolio strategies.
  • Define and drive the annual Product and Portfolio Management process enabling decision making and resource allocation to suit identified customer and market needs.
  • Be part of key commercial decision forums in Global Sales. Key objectives are:
    • Improved Time-to-Market and overall commercial effectiveness
    • Customer centric Value Propositions and Business Models
    • Higher projected ROI relating to products/solutions

  • Develop short - and long-term strategic initiatives / direction and business proposals to accelerate profitable growth and improve the business.
  • Perform regular follow-up and evaluation of strategic initiatives to measure success and identify areas for further improvement.
  • Drive and lead strategic projects across different areas in close collaboration with functional management, providing sharp problem identification, problem solving and recommendations.
  • Build strategic relationships across functional areas to drive effective strategy development and implementation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and act as a thought leader and subject matter expert within the organization, utilizing knowledge to build thought leadership in others.

How to succeed in this position?
As a professional, you have a commercial mindset and a proven track record of both driving, developing and executing global strategies of which you have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience from consultancy industry and/or another high-tech industry with high complexity and global outlook.

Further, you bring to the table:

  • A master’s degree in Strategy, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or relevant field
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, vision and direction and impact decision-making processes.
  • Passion for innovation, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels in a complex and fast-paced matrix organization.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solid experience in executive presence
  • Significant global/international working environment experience
  • Excellent leadership skills

The position is placed either in Terma’s headquarters in Lystrup or in Søborg, Denmark.

Bear in mind that candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance by the Danish Defence Intelligence Service. This entails that candidates, as a minimum, have stayed within NATO/EU for the last 7 years only interrupted by short stays abroad.
