Shape policies and secure dermatology on the healthcare agenda
LEO Pharma is looking for an experienced public affairs professional to lead its Global Public Affairs function. In this role you will be responsible to shape the policies which determine LEO Pharma’s ability to help people with skin conditions.
LEO Pharma has embarked on a growth journey to become the preferred dermatology care partner in the world, dedicated to helping people achieve healthy skin. Our strategy aims to accelerate our efforts in innovative therapeutics while strengthening our established portfolio and our global footprint in medical dermatology.
The job
Global Public Affairs oversees the political interests of LEO Pharma and promotes a political environment that ensures dermatological patients’ timely access to healthcare, elevating the profile of medical dermatology and safeguarding essential business conditions. It is responsible for the relations with governments and policy makers, industry relations, and global patient group relations. In this position, you will head up our public affairs team and take on a broad variety of responsibilities to shape and influence the policies that affect LEO Pharma’s business:
Develop, lead and oversee the global public affairs strategy for LEO Pharma and execution of tactical plans to further advance LEO Pharma’s business goals with policy makers Develop and execute proactive policy and strategic plans to influence legislation and regulatory action for both corporate and business/product specific initiatives Provide global insights and advice into emerging regulatory and legislative issues that impact LEO Pharma’s business, and ensure that LEO Pharma is well prepared to respond Make sure that dermatological diseases are recognized as a public health priority Safeguard and improve LEO Pharma’s reputation with external stakeholders in the policy arena (eg, policy makers, patient groups, international organizations, industry associations) Lead and coordinate the internal network of public affairs practitioners
Your qualifications
We expect you to bring:
10+ years of experience in international government relations, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry Experience working at a senior level in a patient advocacy or government relations role within the pharmaceutical industry. Global experience an asset University degree in political science, business administration or a related field Demonstrated success in creating and implementing multi-year programs to shape healthcare policies Ability to network and work with LEO Pharma leadership and internal stakeholders on all levels (global, regional, local) Experience leading a team, managing budgets and external vendors Fluent English. A second European language is an asset Ability to travel frequently internationally

It combines corporate branding, communication, public affairs, and sustainability. We are helping LEO Pharma achieve its mission of helping people achieve healthy skin by shaping its profile and engaging external stakeholders as well as employees.
Global Public Affairs is a dedicated team of public affairs professionals, helping LEO Pharma achieve its mission of helping people achieve healthy skin by engaging with external stakeholders who shape our external environment and ensure our relations with governments, patient organizations and industry. We are also the hub for all public affairs activities across LEO Pharma, setting the overall public affairs direction, advising senior management as well as functions, regions and countries, and planning, aligning and coordinating initiatives.
