The position
As Associate Director for Laboratory Automation Development, you will be part of Analytical Development consisting of 40 committed colleagues divided into 4 departments and a core team. Your will report directly to the Senior Director of Analytical Development. Laboratory Automation Development consists of five skilled experts and the team will be expanded to support robotic process automation initiatives. All deliveries in the Laboratory Automation Development are made with a high focus on quality and regulatory requirements. Organisationally, Analytical Development is part of Global CMC Development in R&D.

The position

Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a highly skilled team ensuring a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Set direction in our journey on optimizing technologies and implementing robotic process automation that will improve our current laboratory and data flow.
- Oversee implementation and qualification of new analytical instruments and validation of computerized systems, aligned with adequate GMP requirements.
- Ensure that the validated state of our systems is maintained.
- Participate during audits and inspections.
- Daily planning and coordination of Laboratory Automations tasks and activities with stakeholders in QC and CMC laboratories and IT.
Your profile
We are looking for a leader who:
- Has an educational background with a master’s degree within engineering, natural science or equivalent.
- Has proven experience in people management, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a diverse team of experts.
- Has some experience with equipment qualification and software validation, with a passion for new excellence in laboratory operations and continuous optimizations.
- Is adaptable and solution-oriented, ready to lead the team to success through the strategic implementation of AI and robotic process automation solutions to streamline processes and drive innovation.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication and collaboration skills, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
