The position

We are opening a unique possibility to become a part of our Research and Development Global Leadership team. 3Shape has taken an unrivaled leading position within dental CAD system based on industry-leading 3D scanners combined with user friendly design- and patient engagement software - for dental clinics and laboratories. To maintain this stronghold, and to further develop and support the 3Shape digital dentistry ecosystem, we continue to invest in this area. Alongside, we are building a Lifecycle and Quality organization, responsible for post-launch product maintenance, and for our processes and tools related to all our scanner products. As our current Senior Director for these areas have been appointed a new mission, we are looking for a replacement.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the further development of 3D scanner products and related driver software as well as our Lab Software department dedicated to developing the world’s leading CAD/CAM product for dental laboratories. In parallel, you will lead our lifecycle and quality organization. This includes representing R&D in different aspects of Quality Management, and leading efforts to improve R&D Processes and Systems. Your teams will be located at our sites in Kiev, Szczecin, and Copenhagen.

The position is dedicated to lead the effort to bring the digital solutions to dental laboratories that will enable them to become the preferred service partner to dentists that acquire digital impression- and diagnostic devices. This involves active participation of you and your team, including frequent reporting to our executive management team and, occasionally, our board of directors.

The Lab Scanner, Lab Software and Life cycle & quality organization consist of approximately 70 highly skilled R&D people and managers. You will report to the Senior Vice President of R&D as part of the R&D Leadership team managing 3Shapes global R&D (4 sites/countries, 18 nationalities).

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a people centric mindset. We imagine that you have great networking skills to build strong relations with product management, IT, marketing, regulatory, manufacturing and many more. Moreover, we are looking for a person matching most or all of the following:

  • A passion for improving people’s life via innovation and building user centric solutions
  • 10+ years of experience with technical product development within both hardware and software development
  • Experience within Agile Development models for software products
  • Enthusiastic about new and emerging technologies and their applications: Innovation and customer insights as a driver for differentiation - with a commercial mindset
  • Familiar with the development of products within the regulatory frameworks and standards for medical devices, such as 21CFR820, MDD/MDR, ISO 13485/14971/60601, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership excellence based on empowerment, entrepreneurship, strategic and tactical execution
  • Proven record to building and maintaining organizations with strong drive and ownership
  • The importance of having fun, while focusing on long term goals and setting the direction when needed
  • Exquisite communication skills with a listening and coaching mindset – at individual level as well as executive management level
