Become a part of our newly established Program Excellence unit with responsibility of a larger part of our Surveillance & Mission Systems Business Area projects.

In this position you will be part of our newly established Program Excellence unit and will execute on projects within the Surveillance & Mission Systems (SMS) Business Area, dealing with Radar Systems, Naval Solutions, Wind Farm Solutions, Mission Solutions and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

The SMS business unit is growing to meet the demands of tomorrow. We need an experienced and motivated Senior Director for the Naval and C2 department responsible for all customer projects. You will be working from either our Søborg or Lystrup office.

The Naval & C2 department contains of 15 highly skilled project Managers. The team have a strong willingness to succeed and have therefore a high level of team spirit and always have time for helping each other. This includes a close collaboration with our highly experienced and professional colleagues within Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, Production, Quality and Terma Support & Service.

The Position and responsibility
As Senior Director for the department, you will be responsible for executing the Naval and C2 strategy and assuring in close collaboration with our R&D department that all deliveries and financial goals are met.

Moreover, your responsibilities will cover:

  • To assure that ongoing optimization of our product and customer specific projects are being made.
  • To do the ongoing coordination with Sales and give inputs to new potential projects and possible optimized orchestration is key to succeed.
  • Together with our R&D department you are as well responsible for the overall SMS resource demand forecast and assuring the demand is being met.

Our success is secured in close collaboration and stakeholder management with our highly experienced and professional colleagues within Sales, R&D, Production and Technical Service as well as external suppliers, by ongoing dialogue and follow-up during execution of advanced technical projects.

The position will entail some travel and you should expect between 25-30 travel days a year.

How to succeed in this position?
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • 10+ years of management experience within managing project office in a global organization, equivalent education including 5+ years of project management experience within technical advanced customer projects.
  • An academic background as bachelor / master’s degree within electronic or mechanical engineering or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience leading successful teams in a global organization
  • Establishes new ways of working to achieve more efficient execution in cross functionally organization.
  • Experience in managing team competencies and qualifications for upcoming projects, evaluating, and mitigating project risks and include stakeholder management
  • Experience within the defense or security industry as well as experience working with a highly technical product is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Monitoring team performance against contract and financials accruals according to planned performance
  • Experience in PMO execution and running a pipeline of projects with a detailed overview of resource demand and allocation of people for your project portfolio.
