Director, Product Excellence, Group Products – Herning / Horsens
Are you a seasoned professional in process and project excellence, who can recognise yourself in disciplines such as portfolio strategy and management, project management, and process excellence in product development processes? Then, this role as Director, Product Excellence might be for you as you get to build strategic and process excellence capabilities in an international organisation that is continuously growing, organically and through acquisitions.
You will report directly to the Group CTO and SVP, who is responsible for Products, Sustainability and Strategy, and will be part of the CTO’s senior management team. You will spearhead process excellence, project and portfolio management, and as trusted partner to the CTO take active part in driving the functional transformation and business plans. As an international organisation with 12 international brands and one e-commerce platform, including VELFAC, RATIONEL and KRONE brands in Denmark, DOVISTA recognises the importance of being able to integrate, develop and scale new products and processes.
Primary work location will be in either Herning, where most of the Product organisation is located, or in Horsens, where the HQ functions and some of the stakeholders are located. A combination will also be possible and flexibility to work from home can also be agreed. Some business travelling within Europe will occasionally be needed.
The Job
As Director, Product Excellence, you will be expected to improve ways of working via stepping up on Excellence, including e.g. defining, developing and documenting key processes and tools, and by providing the necessary training and communication. Furthermore, you will secure alignment and uniformity in ways of working across the brands, building scalability to help prepare for further growth. Finally, you will align DOVISTA’s strategic direction with operational tools and processes in the CTO area. As an added bonus, you will be an invaluable support to the CTO, and the rest of the management team, defining, challenging as well as executing agreed priorities.
Your responsibilities centre around three main areas that are following:
The Profile
You are an outgoing, engaging, and relationship-oriented leader, who can analyse, conceptualise, streamline, spearhead, and execute an agenda with focus on building what ‘good looks like’. In your work, you can somehow make everything look easy by presenting an overview, communicating clearly about priorities and being in control of project portfolio, progress and details – and you can present this simply and concretely to senior management levels.
It is natural for you to take ownership, meet obstacles with a positive mindset and aim for better and excellence. As such, you are comfortable trying out and testing virgin concepts/models in an agile style/mindset. In your leadership, you balance between processes, projects, strategy, and people, and show a motivating and engaging way of leading others through change. On top, you are a hands-on, productive executioner that is not afraid of being hands-on.
Professionally, you combine your experience from working with process/operational excellence in a Product Development, R&D, or Technology setting, with focus on developing physical technical products. Furthermore, you can document experience in following:
