You will join a team of highly specialised and motivated employees located in our Engineering Studies and HVDC team in the Renewables business area. We are world leading within offshore high voltage transmission systems and focus our powers on AC connections as well as DC and on top floating technologies. Our Offshore Wind markets include Europe, Asia, and the USA, which means that you can expect to be involved in projects worldwide.

The job will involve limited travelling to other Semco Maritime offices, sub-suppliers, and customers.
Areas of responsibility
The backbone in our Renewables business area are the EPC(I) wind farm substation projects. In addition, based on our vast in-house knowledge and experience we support our customers in the project development phase finding the most optimal solutions for bringing the energy to shore. This is where you will be our new Electrical Engineer and future specialist for engineering studies projects.
You will be a part of engineering the design of the most optimal electrical architecture based on topics such as cost of construction (CAPEX) vs. cost of operation (OPEX) optimization, availability, and redundancy – and guiding our client in making the most optimum overall decision. You will get the needed training and backup from the team.
The studies typically cover the entire transmission system i.e., export and array cables layout plus onshore and offshore substations design and structure.
Your key roles and tasks will include:
Your profile
We expect you have a relevant technical education as bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar with experience in high voltage electrical power systems.
Experience from the utility sector or offshore wind industries is an advantage, but not an ultimate requirement. It is a clear advantage of you have demonstrated prior experience with offshore wind power transmission concept and feasibility studies.
You can demonstrate ability to communicate excellently in English, both verbal and written. As a person you must hold an extrovert trustworthy and serious personality and be able to exert influence when needed. A good sense of humor and collaborative nature is always appreciated in Semco Maritime.

You will get the needed training and backup from the team.
The studies typically cover the entire transmission system i.e., export and array cables layout plus onshore and offshore substations design and structure.
Your key roles and tasks will include:
- Be a part of concept, feasibility, and due diligence projects – focus technologies are AC transmission, DC transmission, floating substations and offshore power2x
- Participate in design and calculations as well as grid code compliances
- Be a part of power system studies and load flow calculations
- Development tasks in general (improve power studies, concept studies etc.)
- Engage stakeholders internally and externally
Your profile
We expect you have a relevant technical education as bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar with experience in high voltage electrical power systems.
- You enjoy problem solving and show great attention to detail and you’re keen on developing your existing knowledge and skills.
- You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving.
- You will also possess excellent IT skills, programming skills and have good communication skills.
- You will be innovative and creative
- You are a self-starter and able to work in small teams.
- You are resilient and able to deal with ambiguity
