Power Solutions Plant & Hybrid Solutions Grid & BoP Integration Grid Modelling & Analysis
As an Engineer in Grid & BoP Integration, you will be a part of a highly skilled team in Vestas R&D, with the focus of securing grid connections for Vestas Hybrid Power Plants through electrical simulations, grid analysis and BoP asset engineering. We have team members with both senior expertise from transmission system operators, highly skilled academia- and long industry background. Our teams are working out of both Denmark and Porto.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:
- Drive root cause analysis and propose solutions
- Lead technical solutions to address specific issues to integrate hybrid power plants into the grid without impacting stability and reliability
- Engineering activities in optimizing our analysis methodologies/toolboxes and generic plant design of our Vestas Hybrid Power Plants
- Participate in cross-functional teams to input your grid knowledge for the development of power system related functionality of wind turbines and power plant controllers
- Scope and specify tasks to reach department and project objectives
- Scope and lead technology projects and feasibility studies in the area, to support our technology roadmap actives
Qualifications
- Demonstrated technical accomplishments within power systems analysis or power system modelling
- Understand complex power system issues and phenomena
- Master's Degree in Power System Engineering from an accredited university or engineering college
- Minimum of 4 years of working experience as a Power System Engineer where you have tried to participate in project execution in a matrix organisation
- Solid knowledge of simulation tools (Matlab / Simulink, PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD)
- Experience from other power systems/ turbine manufactures or Transmission System Operators (TSO's)
- It is expected that you understand: 1) Power system time domain and frequency domain modelling and stability analysis and 2) Electromagnetic and electromechanical transients of power system devices following abnormal events
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
- Power electronic converters applied to power generation systems
- Controller design for machine drives and power systems
- Programming (C, Python, Fortran, DPL)
