Oticon ranked #1 company to work in

Like last year, Engineers in Denmark have once again ranked Oticon as the #1 electronics company to work at. We believe this is due to our innovative work environment. We develop best in class hearing solutions and try to defy the limits of what is possible. If you join us as Electronics Hardware Developer, you will be able to influence and leave your mark on our products.

Come join us!
Become part of our success by joining our international R&D team in Denmark as an RF Electronics Developer. You will contribute to strengthening our development capabilities within hearing solutions – especially within RF, but also within other aspects of developing electronics.

Oticon is a large, growing company in the medical-technical industry where our 600+ engineers are all committed to deliver high quality, high tech solutions for hearing impaired people worldwide. You will be working in an international team and company, with many opportunities for professional and personal development. For us, true engineering excellence is to develop ultra-small technological marvels in discrete user-friendly packages. This takes state-of-the-art development methods and serious engineering skills and is only possible if we unite the best competences of every team member. We want unmatched, high performing solutions and we walk the extra mile in our quest for technological excellence.

What is in it for you
In our Hardware function, we are continuously working dedicated to merge the company’s own developed chipsets and solutions with other technologies. The group consists of more than 50 engineers and technicians, who are responsible for developing all electronics for Oticon’s hearing aids. You will be involved in all steps from initial product specification to design handover for mass-production. You will get a chance to design electronics platforms against challenging technical requirements and wishes for smaller and smaller devices assisted by experienced colleagues, advanced CAD- and simulation tools and modern lab-facilities.

Our hearing aids are based on Oticon’s proprietary in-house developed IC’s. The task of our group is to integrate those IC’s along with other technologies like Bluetooth antenna, nEARlink antenna, Telecoil and acoustical transducers to create a state-of-the-art product. Designing small size products with excellent performance is the key driver for success and the limited space and high integration level makes this a very challenging task. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Integration of IC’s and other key components onto PCB’s with size, tough requirements and RF performance in mind
  • Evaluating the performance of the system and be proactive in improving the system performance even more
  • Verification of electrical performance against tough requirements, e.g. RF receiver sensitivity, signal integrity, wireless link quality etc. in relevant use cases
  • Documentation of own work by means of e.g. design specifications, test specifications and measurement reports
  • Supporting the prototype builds including electrical test specification
  • Coordinate and drive cross functional HW integration activities by combining your skills and an outgoing mindset

Your qualifications
We expect you to hold an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and that you have some years of experience within integration of Bluetooth radios or other RF technologies. You must be able to work within your own technical area and at the same time maintain an overview and be able to tie things together on a system level. You may be motivated by coordinating design activities within the project team. Furthermore, it will be an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in designing systems that includes multiple devices and radios
  • Experience in working with audio quality and disturbances
  • Knowledge within regulatory requirements, preferably for medical equipment
  • Knowledge within EMC design

Furthermore, you are a team player and thrive in an international environment with a high pace where two days are rarely alike. You show a high level of personal drive to ensure your tasks are in progress and you take an analytical and systematical approach to complex problem solving. You know how to work according established quality processes and have a good documentation practice, as we are a medical device regulated company.

Become part of our team!
To join our team, please send your CV as soon as possible and no later than 29 September 2019.
