Due to recent contract awards we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Semco Maritime team in Aberdeen. You should have a sound knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering principles and their application to engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages.
The engineering team is focused on the energy industries with current projects supporting the design and build of offshore windfarm substations and brownfield projects for Oil and Gas operators.
As an Engineer with Semco you can expect to work on a wide variety of projects from concept right through to commissioning. This role will provide you with a varied and interesting workload; every day will provide you with a different challenge.

Key Accountabilities
The role requires that you ensure good management of your projects with delivery on time, on budget and in the right quality and executed safely according HSE&Q policies. The key accountabilities are:
- Responsible for the department electrical and instrument system design, engaging in meetings with Systems and Lead Engineers to deliver upgrades and technical solutions to a variety of projects.
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards and Regulations.
- Ensure that all assigned work is carried out on budget and on schedule.
- Deliver guidance and support to graduate and junior engineers, developing drawing and design skills using software packages.
- Carry out electrical system calculations.
- Checking and approval of documentation.
- Provide breakdown support and technical assistance for electrical system queries
- Carrying out site and offshore visits as required
- Liaise with client and 3rd party vendors on a variety of work scopes.
- Actively work with management and others to look for opportunities to improve the Company’s best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educated to Degree/HND level in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience
- Experience working in an engineering environment, ideally in the energy sector
- Offshore survival and medical desirable
- Competent with MS Office applications
- Fluent in English
