To support the rapid growth in demand for our engineering services, we are looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer who can actively support our global Electrical Engineering department with electrical knowledge on grid studies for renewable energy projects.
You will report directly to our Electrical Engineering Manager, and this position will be based in one of our premises in Denmark (Viby J) or Germany (Hamburg). Areas of responsibility:
As Electrical Simulation Engineer your area of responsibility will include:
- Electrical integration studies, ensuring the electrical design and compliance of wind farm, solar farm, battery/hybrid energy storage projects with applicable standards and fulfilling local grid codes for EU, Americas and Asia Pacific markets
- Developing and maintaining library of standardized Python scripts & DPL scripts for performing various power system analyses in tools like Power Factory and PSS-E
- Development of automation scripts, necessary tools and being responsible for setting up simulation model study cases to perform fully automated power system analysis in steady state, quasi-static & dynamic RMS simulations
- Performing dynamic active power-frequency response studies, reactive power-voltage control studies for windfarms, solar farms and batteries storage power plants
- Carrying out HV&MV protection coordination studies and verification of relay settings, Dynamic RMS simulations (FRT) and other studies such as Loadflow, Short Circuit, Energy losses, Grid Code compliance, plant control studies etc.
- Ensuring high performance and quality of electrical simulation models during execution of various power system studies.
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent in Power System Engineering) from an accredited university
- Experience from energy projects, Utilities, Power plants
- Experience in electrical simulation tools, coding ability, power system analysis & computational methods
- Holding very good programming skills in C, Python, DPL, Matlab coding/Simulink etc.
- Experiences with areas like grid code compliance and grid connections of powerplants or renewable assets
- Solid skills in delivering detailed technical study and analysis reports
- Proactive, structured and systematic approach to your tasks
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
