What we offer
We are expanding our R&D ITE team to meet the high demand for new premium hearing aids. The team develops In the Ear hearing aids and is part of the R&D Powerhouse. As part of the R&D powerhouse of the newly formed WS Audiology, the task is to develop the next-generation high-end hearing aids for the Widex and Signia brands. As an electroacoustic engineer you will be working with technology that improves the life quality of millions of hearing-impaired people worldwide. You will join a team of 7 highly skilled engineers. The job will mostly be project work and will be taking place in integrated cross-functional product teams. Most projects are taken from initial idea to final release and ramp-up by the same product team, so be prepared to participate in all phases of product development.
Your responsibilities
As electroacoustical engineer you will have the responsibility of the acoustical design in the next generation hearing aids. You will help ensure that the entire device – including electronics, transducers and mechanics – is optimally designed for sound. This is achieved using state-of-the-art measurement equipment and simulation software. Your experience is vital when discussing and choosing between designs, parts and materials, and your job includes feasibility studies on new ideas and technologies.
Some of your daily tasks as an electroacoustic engineer are:
You will be working in a dynamic environment in an interdisciplinary team, where contributions from many different stakeholders and professions need to align to develop the best possible products for our customers. You will be participating both as a specialist in your field and as a generalist when complex problems need solving.

You have an MSc or PhD education within acoustics, and ideally you have experience within the following areas:
As a person, you understand what it means to be a member of a project team and you can execute a task to a given deadline. You have an innovative and analytical mindset and a good drive, and you like to show results. You enjoy working independently when required, while staying organized and making decisions when needed. You take responsibility for your assignments, while keeping an overview of the ongoing tasks in the project team that are relevant to the overall acoustical performance of the hearing aid. You will be successful in this job if you are able to see the bigger picture in Hearing Aid R&D and work systematically.

- Design of the acoustical system in a hearing aid
- Selection of receivers and microphones
- Investigations of future technologies for hearing aids
- Various acoustical verification measurements
- Debugging and optimizing existing acoustical designs in hearing aids
- Interaction with both electrical and mechanical engineers to find the optimum solution for the hearing aid design
- Design control and documentation
- Involvement in improving work methods and processes

- Small electrical and mechanical constructions preferably Hearing Aids
- Measurements of electroacoustical and vibroacoustical performance
- Documentation of design and test – preferably within compliance of medical device directive
- Experience with MATLAB is preferred
