Alcyon Photonics team is growing.
We are looking for 5 Photonics Engineers. The candidate will work on developing pilot projects in the field of integrated photonic circuits in collaboration with commercial partners.
Alcyon Photonics aims to accelerate the transition from electronics to photonics by translating unique scientific
knowledge into commercial technology. Alcyon brings down the barriers that hampers massive photonics adoption, from its unique design of photonics circuits to its platform strategy.
Alcyon Photonics library of photonics designs brings comprehensive support to the design of photonics application requiring increased capacity for data transmission and minimal information loss in the fields of communication, sensoring or data comm, among others. Alcyon Photonics partners with customers to provide wide bandwidth and polarization management to photonics solutions such as transceivers, FBG or OTDR.
Alcyon Photonics project has been granted the EIC Accelerator by the European Commission to develop and scaleup its game-changing innovations.

RESPONSABILITIES
- Photonics:
- Contribute to the PICs and BB portfolio roadmap.
- Design, modelling and simulating photonic components to grow the Alcyon Photonics portfolio.
- Customer: Learn from customer’s needs to propose solutions based on the company’s portfolio and knowhow.
- Project: Collaborate in the planning of R&D proposals and customer pilots.
- Team: Collaborate or lead technical team, depending on seniority and project.
- Interfacing: Foundry | Software | Academia | Customer.
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional experience:
- Design and simulation of photonic structures with commercial tools (Lumerical FDTD, Synopsis
- Fullwave, etc) for SoI or InP platforms.
- Design of photonic circuits applied to sensors or optical communications within the framework of an industrial project or a European project with an end user.
- Hands-on experience in mask layouts for commercial foundries (including both passives and actives
- components, e.g., lasers, photo-detectors, optical amplifiers…)
- Hands-on experience in testing and characterization (optical and electrical DC and RF) of PICs and blocks
- Intermediate in programming (python): Data structures, Object-oriented programming, Integrated
- development environments (IDEs), data visualization, Git version control.

- Professional English proficient.
- Skilled project management tools experience.
- Team ethos, problem solver and effective communicator.

- Salary: Negotiable according to experience candidate (30.000-40.000€).
