As the Senior Finance Business Partner – Sustainable Finance, you will be part of Maersk’s Decarbonsation Finance team placed in our HQ in Copenhagen, reporting to the Head of Finance Decarbonisation.

You will drive investment analysis activities together with other stakeholders in the business and identify external grants and subsidies to support our decarbonisation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

You will be driving development of strategies to underpin transformation to carbon neutrality; sustainable finance practices, project grants, green fuel subsidies, carbon trading, nature-based solutions etc.

You will develop specific business cases for how these opportunities can be applied to our business, strategy for how to pursue and implement.

You will manage projects across the business to implement appropriate sustainable finance practices and governance.

Key tasks:

• Drive strategy development and engagement across the business to ensure proper application of sustainable finance practices, process and governance
• Identify and pursue green grants and subsidies opportunities in line with business strategy
• Manage application of subsidies and grants in business activities such as investment analysis and green fuels
• Manage process for project call applications, including liaising with key external and internal stakeholders
• Support development of strategy to apply ESG best practice in capital allocation
• Keep abreast of external developments, engaging in relevant fora to enable quality decision making
• Develop and implement appropriate governance for sustainable finance processes and operating systems

Who we are looking for

A person with drive and impact to support Maersk’s ambition of getting to zero emissions, ready to take on this challenge using their capabilities to engage independently with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years’ work experience and a Master’s degree in relevant field.

You have deep knowledge of sustainable finance practices and demonstrated experience of application within a business context.

• Experience in climate finance, understanding of finance sector levers for change and working knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures
• Have the ability to think both strategically and tactically to manage highly complex projects with tight time frames

• Are focused on and skilled at creating impact and getting things done
• Have in depth planning and analytical problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail
• Are entrepreneurial, proactive, and creative, with strong business acumen
• Can engage with and influence, guide and challenge multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Thrives in a fast-paced, and challenging environment
• Have the ability to work in ambiguity and anticipate challenges and solutions before they arise
• Have excellent communication skills and ability to develop high level of credibility with senior stakeholders
• Are a team player, open, pleasure to work with and positive in a group dynamic
