Heading an international Asset Management team in the renewables industry

Are you looking for the next step in your career to drive strategic change and be the role model of the development of the department? Does it motivate you to head up a team that works directly with renewable energy assets, and thereby accelerating the green transition?

European energy is a green energy company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

The department

The greater Asset Management department consists of 92 colleagues in total, based in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Brazil. The department consists of Technical Asset Management, Commercial Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Energy Trading & PPA.

We are responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of power-producing assets of wind and solar PV, offering asset management services for both internal and external assets, and providing energy trading services.

“European energy operates 2,6 GW of green energy and in our function, we are responsible for maximizing the output of that for our Clients. We constantly need to strike a balance between today’s production and future requirements. This calls for a dynamic and collaborative environment where people are the main ingredient!” says Jacob Gotfred Johansen, Head of Asset Management, Operations & Energy Trade

Your new team

You will head up our Technical Asset Management (TAM) team responsible for Germany, Lithuania, and Poland. You will have four people managers directly reporting to you and 20 colleagues in the team.

The TAM team plays a key role in the technical operation and optimization of our solar and wind parks. We work closely with the Commercial Asset Management team, O&M, EPC, Project Development, and Innovation to achieve our main goal of optimizing operational assets with a special focus on performance optimization and cost minimalization. The department is currently undergoing a significant change in which you will play a key role.

How you will create an impact

As our new Head of Technical Asset Management, you lead the function, drive strategic change, as well as business development and professionalization of our business. Your personal leadership and willingness to build up trustful relations with the team are of higher importance than your technical knowledge.

As our portfolio grows we need to constantly renew our selves, becoming more data driven and at the same time manage to build trustful relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will head up and lead the Technical Asset Management team responsible for operating assets in Germany, Lithuania, and Poland and be responsible for alignment with teams in HQ and local offices
  • You will be responsible for people management, personal development, and action on follow-ups from engagement surveys, etc.
  • You will drive the strategic change related to our 2026 strategy and make sure all are on board
  • You will take the lead in business development and professionalisation of our function

To thrive in the role we imagine you have the following competencies

  • You have 5-10 years of experience with personal leadership and enjoy building up relationships with each team member to make them grow
  • You have experience setting the strategic direction and priorities for your team, and driving change
  • You are comfortable in internal and external stakeholder management
  • You are fully proficient in English, oral and written. German is an advantage
  • You preferably have experience in the renewable energy industry

As a person, you are high on energy and possess a natural interest to drive strategic change in collaboration with the team. You thrive to set the direction and have a holistic view in mind. At the same time, you want to be close to your team members and curious about their day-to-day activities.

With us, you get

  • We offer an opportunity to work closely with renewable energy assets and take part in directly accelerating the green transition
  • You will get the opportunity to lead a dedicated team of both people-managers and individual contributors and to make your mark on the growing portfolio
  • We have an entrepreneurial approach to our work. In daily life, it means there’s not far from thought to action
  • Knowledge sharing is important for us. This means that we are looking for an experienced and natural team player

The Company

European energy is a Danish privately owned company founded in 2004. We operate all the way from development, construction, operation, and divestment of wind- and photovoltaic (PV) farms on land as well as offshore globally. Further, we work with development of the future energy solutions, e.g. Power-to-X. We have a solid collaboration with local stakeholders and want to involve all parts in the process.

We are now almost 700 employees with 41 nationalities represented in 20 countries. We all work for our common goal to be the most innovative partner within the green transition and to create The Power of Tomorrow, Today.
