We offer

A super exciting position where you will work with the Ocean Market team in the Europe Region to manage both the ocean business and support our transformation to become the end-to-end integrator of container logistics.

As a FBP in the team, you will hold responsibility for Ocean Products performance and partner with the European Market team and Areas on Ocean performance management.

You will own the Maersk Operating System (MOS) – where the key business decisions are taken during regular weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews. The relevant audience need to have the right material and the right insights on time for an effective decision making. This involves a wide range of stakeholders and activities across the organisation – reporting upwards in the organisation towards the Global Executive management as well as engaging with the Ocean Region team, Areas within the Region, Centre Product Teams as well as Delivery Team.

Ideally, You will be based in Copenhagen or Rotterdam but other European locations might be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

First and foremost you will be a trusted business partner for the Ocean Market team in the Europe Region , assuring that the drivers and levers for achieving the business targets are well understood and applied appropriately.

You will generate insights for Product and Process improvement through financial modelling and analysis to improve business performance as well as Support Product & Functional Transformation.

You will be part of improving Ocean profitability and performance of the Ocean Market Must win battles and you will own performance management in the respective teams.

Key task will include, but not be limited to:

Performance Management

  • Business partner (think like a functional CFO) to the Europe Market team, which supports our customers ocean transportation needs
  • Driving value creation by performance management across departments, i.e.: KPI, Target setting, Budgeting (Annually and Quarterly), and Reporting.
  • Driving Performance Review with the Market team, Area Ocean managers and regional leadership providing analytical insight on cost and revenue on a market and area level.

Project management

  • Play a vital role supporting, enabling business stakeholders in implementing the Integrator Strategy
  • Develop and Drive effective usage of BI solutions along with the data (BI) team to drive performance for the Ocean products
  • Provide Market Intelligence and Insights to support the drive to maximize Ocean profitability.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Finance combined with experience from working as a Business Partner, or from similar roles acting as an advisor towards management and/or business stakeholders (FP&A, or similar).

You have a partnering mindset – effective stakeholder management skills and you are able to build effective trusted relationships, connecting with stakeholders/teams in the organization.

Furthermore you:

  • Are able to solve complexity based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside their own immediate area
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong integrity and a collaborative mindset
  • Have the ability to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes
  • Have the ability to take-on abstract issues and challenges by working both on your own and as part of a cross-departmental team where innovative solutions are required
  • Have exceptional analytical skills, with strong understanding of data across multiple sources to drive fact-based decision making both in Operations and Commercial
  • Have a strong business and commercial mind-set and grasp and focus on strategic requirements with the confidence to make tough decisions
  • Are used to and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced and changing environment dealing with a lot of different tasks at the same time
  • Are team-oriented and have a passion for proactively collaborating with global colleagues across multiple functions and cultures
  • Have a high degree of change readiness and energy to be able to continuously adjust to dynamic changes in our business environment.

As a person you are a self-starter, with passion for and patience with large data sets – you are able to manage the regular deliverables with the ad hoc and to identify where to invest more time for the better outcome – without requiring step by step guidance.
