Success and rapid growth have created an opportunity to join European Energy UK Limited as Finance Manager/Director (depending on experience) reporting directly to the Country Manager. You will be part of the leadership team in the UK, participating in management Boards, and taking on Director roles for various entities, including SPVs.
Working with internal and external resource, you will ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements towards company regulation, tax, VAT, bookkeeping, payroll, filings, timeliness, etc. for all UK entities. You will lead and contribute to internal processes, including budget and cash flow forecasts, to prepare and monitor business plans, working with colleagues in the UK and at HQ in Denmark.
As projects approach construction ready status, you will support project managers to forecast and monitor capex and liaise with the M&A and Project Finance team to support project divestments and debt funding. You will Liaise with JV partners to ensure good financial governance & budget control, developing processes and procedures as required, and ensuring good document control to support future divestment.
As an integral part of the project team, you will lead all things financial, assisting project managers to monitor and control project budgets, evaluating financial models, reviewing/evaluating project and company financial information during acquisitions, developing processes, procedures and reporting as required.
You will lead relevant internal and external resources, and ensure a competent, adequately resourced, and motivated team within your area of responsibility
European Energy UK Limited is on track to deliver substantial growth in the coming years and is currently delivering a pipeline of more than 800MW of solar, onshore wind, and energy storage projects across the UK. Our first solar project was constructed in 2023, with further projects located throughout the UK to be delivered into construction in 2024 and beyond.

Your New Role

Areas of Responsibilities
- QHSE – Support and contribute to a strong culture of safety; prioritize quality, health, safety & environment; ensure our QHSE values flow through all aspects of project identification and development; adopt a mindset of continuous improvement & transparent reporting on all aspects of QSHE
- Ensure timely, complete, and accurate bookkeeping as per regulatory and corporate requirements in the Reporting & Accounting Manual as issued from time to time, including compulsory local statutory and regulatory filings and settlements
- Provide appropriate financial analysis and insight to leadership team on the financial performance of the organization and actively ensure optimisation of procedures
- Ensure timely and high quality annual, quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc analysis and reporting to corporate as defined in the Reporting & Accounting Manual or otherwise required by the Group
- Responsible for preparation and follow-up of budgets and regular forecasts
- Ensure appropriate intercompany charging in accordance with transfer pricing policies
- Manage relationship with TAX, VAT and payroll and local GAAP reporting in cooperation with external advisors assisting on TAX, VAT, local GAAP, etc.
- Continuous optimization of tasks and processes including participation in cross-organisational projects
- Support in acquisition and divestment due diligence processes
- Recruit, retain, and develop adequate talent including appropriate performance management of the team

Prerequisites to thrive in the position
- Degree in Auditing/Accounting/Finance
- 10+ years of practical experience within audit or Accounting and Finance
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Substantial skills in TAX, VAT, and other statutory requirements in “country”
- Excellent knowledge of Local GAAP and preferrable IFRS
- Proficiency as user of Navision Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP system
- Superuser proficiency of Excel and consolidation tool, preferably HFM (Hyperion)
- Good analytical skills and sense for detail
- You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- You can work remotely & independently and be self-motivated within a supportive & collaborative company
