Whenever codes and standards do not apply or lead to bulky solutions, risk considerations can be brought into play to ensure engineering decisions that are both safe and efficient. If you want to be part of this daily puzzle, trying to understand, frame and finally solve the challenges that arise, we are now looking for a new colleague for our risk analysis section.

EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS

The risk analysis section is an integral part of our infrastructure business and resides in our main office in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark.

By investigating the risk aspects associated with major infrastructure projects and marine traffic, the section assists the design teams and client organisations to ensure suitable, efficient and safe solutions. Risk analysis, probabilistic modelling and data analysis are applied in conjunction with modelling of the system behaviour and physical interrelations to evaluate the risks of specific designs, projects and situations. Typically, we deal with ship collisions with bridges and offshore structures, navigational safety in general, fires in tunnels and on bridges, as well as special problems linked to road and rail safety.

Through our involvement in world-class projects such as the record-breaking Çanakkale Bridge in Turkey and the Lower Thames Crossing Tunnel in the UK, we provide innovative solutions and contribute to constantly pushing the boundaries of engineering design.

Your typical workday will involve some or all of the following:

  • Engaging with project stakeholders to understand the issues and problems in question. The stakeholders that you will interact with are our project teams within bridge, tunnel, offshore wind and marine environment and clients such as public authorities, infrastructure owners and international contractors
  • Participating in hazard/risk workshops
  • Setting out conceptual approaches and developing methods to analyse and solve the problems
  • Implementing the approaches through qualitative methods, programming or statistical analyses
  • Assessing results from investigations and deriving conclusions for discussion with stakeholders to find optimal solutions
  • Documenting the work from the above activities through reports and presentations

YOUR SKILLS. OUR TEAM. TOGETHER, WE DESIGN THE FUTURE

Multi-disciplinary investigator – a generalist with specialist abilities

In addition to a broad and solid understanding of engineering or related scientific domains you also possess the theoretical skills, the curiosity and the drive to thoroughly understand, describe and model the various unusual and/or accidental circumstances that large infrastructure, marine traffic environments and other facilities are exposed to.

You can identify, clarify and formulate the issues to be addressed both by independent efforts and in collaboration with colleagues, customers and stakeholders. You are not devoted to a specific tool or type of analysis but apply what is needed to investigate the issue at hand.

Our desired profile possesses:

  • A Master's degree in engineering or a related scientific domain, e.g. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, physics, mathematics, data science etc.
  • Preferably some years of professional experience within engineering or science
  • Experience with or wish to develop within: Risk analysis, risk management, data analysis or probabilistic modelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably in one Scandinavian language

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
