We are looking for professionals with a background in developing and managing surcharges who have a passion for constant improvement, to join our Global Charge Management team that governs add-ons and surcharges across the 130+ countries that Maersk operates in.

As a Business & Product Development Manager in CEN Charge Management, you will be leading our surcharge transformation journey to enhance experience of our customers. You will interact with colleagues daily from across the globe. Your stakeholder map will span from frontline sales, customer experience, support centers to strategic centers of excellence in headquarters. You will be leading parts of our exciting initiatives to drive modernization, standardization and automation. This would change the way our organization work in the future.

Key responsibilities
As the Business & Product Development Manager for surcharges, your responsibilities will span all the surcharges that are sold together with Maersk’s Ocean products. The surcharges are divided into 4 categories; pass-through surcharges, behavioral & penalty surcharges, emergency surcharges and mandatory-by-law surcharges. You will align on priorities within your team which includes a surcharge product lead and one other Business & Product Development manager in addition to you.
You will be also working with our data sources for customer feedback to collect customer feedback, translate customer needs and recommend changes to surcharges and other products across Maersk. With this work you will interact with many Product Managers across our organization.
Additionally, you will work on Modernizing the data infrastructure for surcharges. We are currently in the process of migrating surcharges from one system to another and your role is to work with the Platform Product Owner to identify what the needs of the organization to allow for better management of surcharges going forward.
Further key areas of responsibility:
• Analyze and optimize surcharges, drive cost discovery and performance for Ocean via regional organizations
• Simplify the surcharge landscape and suggest new add-ons consistent with company vision
• Serve as an in-house expert for our surcharges and go-to person for all functional issues
• Work with Global Service Centre to setup, guide and optimize execution of the sale of surcharges
• Enable Area Charge Managers to effectively execute in their regional roles
We are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a relevant educational background combined with solid hands-on experience.
You:
• 5+ years’ experience with Product Management, Project Management, Sales Enablement, Value Added Services or other relevant experience
• Passion for creating real value for customers
• Data centric and analytical; able to break down business problems and use data to find solutions to customer problems
• Great communication skills verbally and in writing
• A team player that enjoys working and engaging with many stakeholders, capable of delivering results in a fast-paced environment
