Project Development Manager for renewable energy in Romania

European Energy is an international company in rapid growth. We cover all phases of wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, from early project development to operation and, in some cases, divestment of the assets. We are +500 employees with 30 different nationalities, and since 2004 we have installed more than 100 renewable projects representing a total value of more than DKK 18 billion. Currently, we have a development pipeline exceeding 25 GW and operate globally with our headquarter in Copenhagen and local offices in 16 other countries, primarily in Europe. Our goal is to be creative enablers of the green transition.
As our new Project Development Manager your focus will be on developing and handling our wind- and solar (PV) projects in Romania in order to build up the Romanian pipeline. You will be part of the Project Development, South Eastern Europe team, which currently consists of 16 colleagues who are located in Denmark, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia and Romania. In Romania, we are currently three colleagues but we expect to expand the team as the pipeline grows, which will bring interesting opportunities to this role.
You have solid interpersonal and collaboration skills to negotiate with various stakeholders. You show flexibility, have good structural skills, and thrive in a motivated and multidisciplinary environment.

Your areas of responsibility
- Handle the project development process moving the projects from inception to the ready to build (RTB) status and handing it over to the construction work
- Handle the development process, prepare, and submit project applications and documentation to relevant authorities
- Engage the engineering, procurement, and construction experts from European Energy organization as well as external service providers
- Develop the project development expenses budgets and follow its execution
- Screen and identify land plots and potential areas for renewable energy development projects
- Negotiate and lead towards signing the land lease agreements with landowners
- Evaluate new greenfield, brownfield, and RTB wind and solar (PV) projects
- Maintain an efficient dialogue with key stakeholders
- Participate in overall renewable energy market development
- Liaison with local suppliers throughout the project lifecycle in close collaboration with HQ in Denmark
Your profile
- You have a relevant university degree or similar, e.g., within engineering
- You have experience from the renewable energy sector, preferably within development or engineering, alternatively within corporate finance, public administration or planning
- You are proficient in English and Romanian
- You are skilled in MS Office
- You may have experience/interest in working with GIS and project management tools and software
- You are organized and have good communication skills
- You have a driving license
