We are looking for a development manager ready to drive change and delivery

We are looking for an ambitious, self-propelled, structured and engaged leader with a solid data warehouse, data transformation, analytics and business intelligence background and desire to lead a cross-functional team across Poland and Denmark.

You become part of the Data & Cloud domain and leadership team in the role as development manager for a team focused on data delivery and compliance, reporting to the Development Director of the domain.

You will be leading 10 professionals across Denmark and Poland while also assuming the system and delivery ownership of the team. The team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing several critical data-oriented components and services for bec’s customers.

The team is partly working on a legacy, on-premise tool stack based on IBM Netezza, Informatica Powercenter and misc. custom SW components (incl. Python based) - but at the same time the team is setting the direction for critical parts of bec’s future cloud-based data, BI and analytics landscape. With this comes a unique opportunity to partake in a critical ‘first-mover’ project not only within bec, but also within the financial industry in Denmark, in which we transition the data, BI and analytics landscape to Microsoft Azure Cloud leveraging among other things Power BI, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Wherescape and Data Vault 2.0.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

As a development manager you will be accountable for the team regarding efficient delivery, system operability and compliancy, people management and driving the cloud transformation of the team.

This is something you will achieve in close collaboration with the product owner of the team and with the support of the leadership team of the domain, consisting of development managers (8 in total), release train engineer, product manager and domain architect.

• Ownership for development of solutions and operations, maintenance, and support
• Ensure proper IT Service Management disciplines with continuous improvement in mind
• Reduce operational and delivery risks
• Monitor, verify and validate changes and solutions performance with stakeholders

The ideal candidate has:

• Educational background as computer scientist, engineer or similar on bachelor or master level
• 4-8 years of IT experience and 2-4 year of IT leadership experience
• Experience working in an agile organization
• Experience working on multiple complex areas and find solutions together with teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with multicultural teams and organizations
• Experience with business intelligence, analytics and data warehousing
• Experience with relevant cloud technologies such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL / PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis Services, Application Insights, Azure Purview and Power BI
