Project Manager to renewable energy projects in the Baltics and SE Europe

Are you looking to join a green and international company in rapid growth where you can make a difference every day? Would you like to develop and coordinate our wind- and solar (PV) projects in the Baltics and South-Eastern Europe? Then we might be your new colleagues.

European Energy is a green company with exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

The team

You will be part of the Project Development team for the Baltics and South-Eastern Europe. We have six colleagues, including you, located at the Headquarters in Søborg and we are 20 in total. We are a growing team and we focus on classic, solid project development of Wind and Solar PV projects from green field to construction.

A main focus now is to drive projects through to construction in early 2024 within both PV and wind and to reach the milestones in between.

“We are saving the world while having fun! Personal development of my team is important to drive the development of our projects”, says Michael Viberg Pedersen, Head of Project Development, SEE and Baltics.

How you will create an impact

As our new Project Manager your main focus will be to work with and support our local project teams in Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and the Western Balkans on technical and commercial aspects of project appraisal and development.

You will contribute to building business cases and financial models for our wind and solar PV projects, communicating clearly and effectively with multiple stakeholders. You will collaborate with Country and Project Managers to develop and maintain an overview of processes, workstreams, milestones, budgets, timelines, and priorities.

You will get the opportunity to visit the local offices to build relations with your colleagues abroad as well as a keen knowledge of the local market conditions, from multiple angles such as regulatory, legal, tax, finance, M&A, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will support our local project teams in Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and the Western Balkans on technical and commercial aspects of project appraisal and development.
  • You will build business cases and financial models to support the decision-making process for our projects.
  • You will collaborate with the Country Managers and local Project Managers to ‘identify and remove rocks on their road’ and create a clear overview of the strategy and priorities.
  • Your main focus will be on your colleagues and internal stakeholders.

To thrive in the job we imagine

  • You have 3+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy projects
  • You have experience with assessment, development, permitting, and construction management
  • You have a relevant university degree or similar, e.g., within business administration/corporate finance, engineering, or law
  • You are fully proficient in English, oral and written
  • You are skilled in MS Office and Excel

As a person you are a “do’er”, you find solutions to challenges, and you understand the risks involved and how to mitigate them. You take ownership of your work responsibilities, you have a high personal drive, and you can manage changes in priorities. You are organized and know your priorities, taking first things first. And you do this in collaboration with your team, so communication skills are also highly valued.

We offer

  • You will be part of a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with a high focus on collaboration across borders.
  • We have an entrepreneurial approach to our work. In daily life, it means it is not far from thought to action, and you will have trusted responsibilities no matter your seniority.
  • An opportunity to become part of a team that takes action and leads the green transition in many countries, delivering on our vision for a fossil fuel-free world.
  • Knowledge sharing is important for us. We start every Monday with our global weekly morning meeting. Here the executive management and departments give us an update on projects and current focus areas.

The Company

European Energy is a Danish privately owned company founded in 2004. We operate all the way from development, construction, operation, and selling of wind- and photovoltaic (PV) farms on land as well as offshore globally. Further, we work with development of the future energy solutions, e.g. Power-to-X. We have a solid collaboration with local stakeholders and want to involve all parts in the process.

We are now almost 700 employees with 41 nationalities represented in 20 countries. We all work for our common goal to be the most innovative partner within the green transition and to create The Power of Tomorrow, Today.
