We are searching for a development manager for the Calypso area
This position is based at our friendly office in either Warsaw, Poland or Roskilde, Denmark and you will join our Calypso team(s) within domain Capital Markets Risk. The domain is in charge of:
As development manager in the Calypso area, you will be responsible for a full stack development team that, with the outset in Calypso and its integrations points, delivers new functionality either as configuration or custom code, ensure system lifecycle management, operation, support and are compliant with regulations and bec internal processes. Our Calypso client base consist of 20+ Danish banks.
Calypso is bec capital markets offering for FX, MM and related derivatives trading includingposition keeping and profit/loss calculation in real-time. Intraday and end of day risk calculation cross asset classes and settlement for the native products under FX, MM and related derivatives.
Calypso is also the foundation for FRTB and SA-CCR calculations and counterparty credit risk measurements and limit handling.
You will be working with the vendor-based application, Calypso, and the surrounding in-bound and out-bound interfaces. We are following Calypso’s monthly patching policy to stay as close as possible to the newest version. Calypso is moving their application towards a more open and cloud enabled infrastructure and are developed in Java.
The development manager will be responsible for the daily leadership of the team and should actively participate in the domain management team. We are working agile with quarterly planning and a 5-quarter roadmap. You will be responsible for the full development cycle ensuring the right quality and are in alignment with bec architectural principles.
We are moving from a team split between development and operation into a model with full stack Calypso teams that must coordinate one Calypso backlog and deliver into a one bec backlog priority.
At bec, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Development Director, Bent-Ove Bjørn.

- Supporting trading, risk and settlement in FX, MM and related derivatives
- Cross Capital Markets asset class risk calculation including banking book products covering interest rate risk
- Front to Back capital markets platform around Calypso
- Regulatory reporting on a broad range of reporting schemes like liquidity, Basel etc.
- Transactional reporting like TRS, EMIR, SFTR etc.
- The Calypso application is distributed to 20+ banks within the bec community.

- Leading a team of business analysts and developers split between Warsaw and Roskilde
- Being part of Capital Markets Risk management team
- Development and operation of Calypso and related components and integrations
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders like: bec’s demand organization, bec architects, bec capacity management, bec operation, JN Data and external vendors
- System Owner with related accountability on the operational side
- Interact closely with PM and PO’s when planning and following up on deliveries
- Interact with our customers during development and operation
To succeed you will have:
- Leadership skills with the desire to lead and grow people and build a high performing team
- Team player setting the direction based on bec highest priorities
- Developer experience and able to set high standards
- Motivated to establish a development culture thinking “shift left”, high quality and automation as the foundation
- Work closely with the demand organization establishing a well refined roadmap that includes both functional, operational and compliance deliveries
- Build relationships between teams both inside and outside the domain
- Participate actively in the domain management team and in other relevant forums at bec
- Understand and establish a culture where operation stability, compliance and development go hand in hand
- Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Understanding of agile planning principles
- Understanding of ITIL and SLCM principles
