Where and what should Grundfos produce, and what should we buy? Do you want to be the person to answer these questions? And do you want to do so in a position where you get to be a key player in defining the future manufacturing network?
Then grab this opportunity to become a part of the global team driving the Global footprint process, where you be working across the entire Grundfos organisation.
Join Group Operation Strategy team – a diverse, global and high-performing team
Based out of our HQ in Bjerringbro, Denmark, you will join an international team of 18 highly dedicated colleagues that are spread out globally from Denmark and Serbia to the US, Mexico, China and Hungary. We work with questions concerning the production set-up for Grundfos on a global basis as well as the high-level make-or-buy decisions.
Most of us have either a technical or supply chain background, but besides that, we are a very diverse team – something we view as a fundamental strength.
“Even though we do not sit together physically, we have managed to build a really close cooperation in the team, where we thrive in our diversity and truly utilise our differences,” says Sr. Director, Group Operations Strategy, Thore Bänsch.
You will be the Business partner for our Domestic Building Division (DBS) and be a part of the DBS Operation Management team. Furthermore, you will be a part of the management team in Group Operations Strategy, and actively participate in managing the Group Operations Strategy team.
What is the job about?
As our new Chief Project Manager, your responsibilities will be to drive the global footprint work in the DBS division securing a balanced approach and optimizing the global footprint by leveraging the Divisional strategy input with the greater good of Grundfos to have a competitive, resilient, and sustainable production network – The ONE Grundfos.
Specifically, you will be:
Preparing business cases/studies, making recommendations and facilitating the make/buy decision-making, as well as implementing these decisions
Be a part of preparing and drive overall prioritization of future footprint activities both within the DBS Division but also across Divisions
Overall responsible for implementation of decided footprint activities within own division and on a Group level
Support defining core/non-core areas representing the DBS division linking it to the entire Group as a step in the production decision-making process
Identify key gaps between current footprint and opportunities to support sales balancing the Divisional requirements with the global setup
Executing on agreed outsourcing activities as project responsible, via dedicated project manager(s)
The global function of your role will take you traveling 10-30 days a year to visit factories, suppliers and other production units.
“This is a true core business role, where you have the opportunity to strongly influence how Grundfos produces – or buys – products in the future,” Thore continues.
Your background
The key to this role is your ability to manage stakeholders in a global setting – both when it comes to pulling insights from collaborators and cooperating with internal and external partners on new projects. While we are very open to various backgrounds, we do expect you to have a well-rounded commercial insight, enabling you to comprehend the workings of a global organization and production.
Also, we imagine that you:
Have a good technical, supply chain and operational understanding, from working in a plant or from a relevant Group function.
Have solid experience working with processes, operations, high-level decision-making, production units, outsourcing activities, or similar.
As a person, you have the capability to listen but at the same time be persistent in pursuing the goal. You are able to balance between details and creating the big picture and you are not afraid of challenge status quo.
It will be an advantage if you have experience within Grundfos, with a deep understanding of its organization, culture, and current maturity level.
