Project Manager, EPC Poland

Your New Team

You will be a part of the European Energy EPC team, consisting of 100 colleagues. You will work closely with our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark and our local team in Poland. Our project pipeline in Poland is in rapid growth, and you will be hands-on in many technical, organizational, and commercial aspects with the opportunity to develop professionally and take on more responsibility over time.

Your New Role

As our new Project Manager, EPC Construction, you will play an important role in delivering utility-scale solar (PV) projects in Poland. In due course, we also expect the delivery of energy storage and onshore wind projects to form part of the Polish portfolio.

Working within the structure of the European Energy Project Management Model (PMM) you will be responsible and accountable for planning and driving the alignment of the EPC activities during development and structuring phase and for the execution of the project in the Construction phase, before handing it over our asset management team. This will include working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and manage the different structuring and construction activities.

You will be responsible for risk management, timeline management, cost management, supplier management, reporting, and the general compliance of the projects. An important part of this position also entails applying any lesson learned and continuously optimizing and streamlining our project management processes.

You will see yourself in an environment with many interesting tasks. You have solid interpersonal skills to engage with local suppliers, inhouse engineering departments, and be in close contact with developers.

Areas of Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, contractors, and the risk team, to maintain the highest standards of H&S and Quality on the project
  • Work within the EE PMM structure and help support the rollout and implementation of newly developed procedures and processes
  • Work with the Polish development team based in Poland and in Denmark to support maturing projects from a technical and cost optimization point of view and prepare them for investment decision.
  • Drive EPC activities and deliverables (Grid, Design, Structural, Electrical, Procurement), chair regular team meetings and ensure minutes and actions are issued
  • Financial management of projects and approvals of invoices
  • Work closely with the construction team and conduct site visits before and during construction to monitor construction progress, identify risks, and meet contractors
  • Ensure compliance with the various permits, land leases, grid connection, finance, off taker and other agreements in line with key performance indicators, performance monitoring systems, output specifications and contractual requirements
  • Construction, Sponsor, PPA, Off-taker, and SPV Reporting as required by the project agreements (progress, CAPEX, risks, HSE)

Your Profile

  • You have a bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience
  • You have a proven track record of project management with experience in grid connected energy projects during the construction phase
  • You have strong knowledge of Polish Health and Safety Legislation
  • You are fluent in English and Polish both verbally and in writing
  • You have a valid EU driving license
  • You are willing to travel throughout Poland and to our head office in Denmark
  • You can work remotely & independently and be self-motivated within a supportive & collaborative company
  • You are a creative problem solver
  • You have a proactive and diligent approach
  • You can balance quality in the context of time & cost pressure.
