We are looking for a talented and motivated candidate for our group of scientists working with clinical research and epidemiology at the haematological research section, Department of Haematology. The epidemiology unit uses observational registry data in epidemiological research of haematological diseases and facilitates local investigator-initiated clinical trials as well. The position is open from 1 January 2025 and is initially limited to two years (including a three months’ trial period), but with the possibility of extension.
About the position
You will be working at the Clinical Epidemiology Research Unit and will be involved in all aspects of practical data analyses from study planning and data acquirement to drafting and preparation of scientific papers. The unit includes researchers with various clinical backgrounds. The position comprises close collaboration with students and physicians from the Department of Haematology, Aalborg University Hospital and Aalborg University as well as collaboration with national and international research groups. You will take part in the research programs as well as ongoing and future international collaborations. A key methodology within the unit is to combine large observational data from various databases and apply novel statistical methods to extract information for clinical decision making and patient counselling. You will be working with us on these projects as well as having your own research area.
Qualifications
A university degree in statistics/mathematics, medicine (including medicine with industrial specialization), or engineering is required. You need to have a genuine interest in data analysis. Knowledge about at least one statistical programming language (R or SAS) is an advantage, and a collaborative mindset is required.
