Power Solutions Aerodynamics & Mechanical Hub Module Pitch actuation Sub-Module
Aerodynamics & Mechanical is a part of Vestas Power Solutions, which is the cornerstone of Vestas. Through innovation, development and continuous product improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future.
The Hub Engineering Module is a part of Aerodynamics & Mechanical and has sites in both Denmark, India and Portugal. The module is fully responsible for the competences, design, specification and documentation of the hydraulic blade pitching function in the wind turbine. This includes design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Additionally, we are also looking ahead to verify new technologies such that these can be part of future turbine project. The HUB team is also providing technologies in the areas of blade bearings and hub design and service.
You will join a very international team, that is located both in Denmark and Porto. The team support each other and take great pride in developing the best solutions. Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating creative solutions to design challenges, in order to fulfil the product and technology road maps
- Design and specify Hydraulic units and components in close collaboration with suppliers
- Work closely with suppliers on issues and improvements
- Close collaboration with stakeholders across the value chain on engineering the best solutions to achieve the right quality and cost savings
- Design verification and validation protocols with suppliers
- Design risk associated to the design
- Design with safety and reliability in focus
Qualifications
- M.Sc or B.Sc within Mechanical Engineering in the field of machine components, hydraulic (Mechatronic or similar)
- 2-5 years' experience with a larger organisation dealing with complex products
- Sound understanding of fundamental machine components and hydraulic
- Experience with relevant tools as Mathlab, Simulink and APIS
- Experience with Statistical and accelerated testing methods (i.e reliability testing, HALT, CALT testing method)
- Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessments, requirement specifications etc.
- Experience with internal collaboration is desirable
