Talented Sr. Development Scientist in API Downstream Development

The position In this position you will primarily be responsible for planning and partly executing and analysing laboratory experiments to develop robust and scalable purification processes to support different the gene therapy strategy. You will:
Be responsible for developing downstream processes for molecules within the gene therapy area. Drive an overall process perspective, connecting challenges and potential opportunities for the entire process to seek the optimal solution together with your stakeholders and colleges Evaluate and report experimental work in the laboratory Provide data analysis as well as input at technical design reviews Collaborate with laboratory technicians, including trouble shooting on technical issues Participate in cross-functional project groups and professional collaboration forums Be anchor for downstream process transfer to CMO’s and provide technical support during both process development and clinical productions Be innovative in experimental design and optimization, Identifying innovative solutions to technical problems, data handling and secure IPR Drive cross organisational optimization projects

Qualifications
You hold a M. Sc. preferable a PhD in biochemistry, (bio-)chemical engineering, protein chemistry or related discipline. You have experience within downstream process steps such as chromatography, cell lysis, filtrations, enzymatic reactions and supporting analytics. A theoretical understanding in combination with practical experience from lab within chromatography and DNA/RNA chemistry or/and protein chemistry are essential for the position. We work in a fast-changing environment, with an increasing level of automation and digitalization. It is therefore considered a benefit to be an innovative individual with ability and experience within the areas of mechanistic or statistic modelling for experimental design and data handling.

About the department
The job is placed in the department Downstream Development in CMC API Development, R&ED , located in Bagsværd. Our main responsibility is to develop manufacturing processes for new proteins and peptides used in clinical trials. We do so in close collaboration with the research and manufacturing units, pilot facilities, and Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs). The department has 60+ employees divided in 3 teams that work together. Currently, we are expanding the gene therapy area within the company and developing technologies involving plasmid DNA , mRNA, and AAV particles. Working at Novo Nordisk
