subsidiary of Emerging Display Technologies Corp. Ltd. (EDT) – manufacturer of TFT, touch and embedded display solutions, listed on the Taiwanese stock exchange. EDT was founded in 1994 and opened the European office in Farum, Denmark in 2000. Worldwide EDT has 1200 employees and in EDTE they are a group of 14 people. Today, EDTE generates 70% of the global turnover, with a portfolio of 50% OEM business and 50% distributor business. On a global scale, some of the competition that EDT compete and compare with are Powertip, URT, Truly, Tianma and Data Modul. Their joined ventures partners include ST Microelectronics, TouchNetix & Microchip.
Your new role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will join the EDT European sales team in their sales office in Germany to help develop sales further in Central Europe in cooperation with our authorized distributors and OEM accounts. You will be managing an assigned account base/geographical territory with the primary objective of growing EDT`s revenue by creating new and supporting existing business. Also Develop the market by providing commercial & technical sales support, in conjunction with the FAE (technical) team. Responsibility for setting the annual sales forecast within your territory and doing the follow up and achieve the agreed targets.
You will be promoting and presenting our products to distributors and their customers and OEM customers and secure and maintain a healthy project pipeline. Coordinating projects together with HQ and the distributors and be able to argue the costumers’ case to the HQ and ‘fight’ both ways. You will be visiting the distributors and customers with the purpose of promoting EDT’s range of displays and capacitive touch and embedded solutions and keeping the distributors focused on our line of products and market areas. You will also be expected to keep up to date with industry and market trends and best practices and preparing and join exhibitions and conferences. This means that you will have a travel activity of approx. 40 – 100 days a year, primarily in Central Europe.
What you’ll need to succeed
Experience with, and flair for sales of technical solutions, electronic components, and products. A relevant customer network in DACH area or Central Europe (related key words: semiconductors, IC, embedded computer, embedded boards, MCU, microprocessor, displays, touch, HMI). You have a good technical understanding and preferably a design-in cycle knowledge of the process from product concept to final design. Preferably, you have knowledge within displays technologies (LCD / TFT & touch solutions).
· You are fluid in written and spoken English is a must as it is the corporate language. A good working level of German is required. Other languages will be an advantage.
· You have a strong, honest, and trustworthy personality, with a high drive and persistence, and the ability to meet agreed targets.
· Experience in negotiating at various levels
· High level of service and support attitude and a professional approach towards customers
· Work well within a team, with good communication skills
· Extrovert, open, patient, and positive attitude
· Have a cross-cultural understanding
