Do you have solid experience within business development in China? Do you have a strong network in the furniture industry? Are you an excellent negotiator and communicator, and do you build strong relationships with your suppliers and stakeholders?

Primary responsibilities:

  • Source and develop new suppliers to ensure, that we always have the optimal supplier portfolio.
  • Monitor the competitive environment to identify the best Chinese suppliers.
  • Work closely with existing suppliers to:
    • improve performance.
    • proactively follow up on all important milestones.
    • secure thorough understanding of Actona’s business model and key KPIs
    • implement procedures and requirements.

  • Drive healthy relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Trouble shooting and fire fighting in pursuit of smooth daily operations.

Key competences:

  • Strong commercial understanding – you are our every-day local eyes and ears, and you know, what to question, what to investigate and what to challenge to secure top performance.
  • Excellent negotiations and communications skills.
  • Broad experience from trading companies.
  • Broad experience from the furniture industry, incl. basic product and production knowledge.
  • Impact through well-prepared facts and arguments.
  • You build trust - and interact at all levels.
  • A patient coach, when guiding and helping our suppliers.
  • Energetic and self-driven with a high sense of responsibility and proactivity.
  • Team spirit and commitment.
  • Detailed and organized.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.

Education and experience:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in International Business.
  • 5+ years’ professional experience – from international trading companies.
  • 5+ years’ of relevant experience from the furniture industry.
  • Fluent in English – oral + written
  • Fluent in Chinese – oral + written
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office, NAV an advantage

Important to know about the job:

  • Your primary work area is Hebei province – and nearby areas.
  • Your home base is preferably in Tianjin/Bazhou or Shandong area.
  • It is an advantage if you have a strong sourcing base and network in Shandong area.
  • Task-specific working hours – might vary from day to day.
  • You will get 4 highly professional BD colleagues in your team, and you have a Chinese team leader (based in HQ in Denmark).
