About the department
When joining Coloplast you will enter a global company that offers great challenges, opportunities and rewards. The new Coloplast products are designed by Device Design. Device Design consists of a versitile group of ambitious people working in four teams: User Insights, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design and Analysis.
You will join the department of Analysis, where you will team up with the simulation team to provide development projects with guidance and recommendations.
The job
You will work closely together with your colleages in the simulation team and the Mechanical Design engineers. In some cases the Mechanical Design engineers will provide you with designs to assess, but in other cases we build the model proactively to understand the behavour of our products better. We make multiphysics simulations, simulations of flows in ducts, predict the outcomes of tests, model human tissue, predict fracture, assess design changes and help technology development. Commucating your findings in a simple and actionable way is key to succeeding in the job.

The ideal candidate for the job possesses several of the following qualifications:
You could have a background in academia, consultancy, GTS or something else – the most important thing is that you are good at framing the context of a problem and good at making numerical simulations. We produce products in the millions and early attention to details has a great business impact. We value honesty and open feedback and are looking for an ambitious team player. If you are good at what you do and able to communicate your findings clearly, this position will suit you.

- Provide CFD analysis and structural non linear FE analysis to various development projects.
- Present fact based design recommendations to the development projects based on your analysis.
- Be a part of further develop the internal processes in the simulations team.
- Be a part of building our material library.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the job possesses several of the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. with speciality in Numerical Simulations, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- Experience with CFD analysis.
- Experience with non linear FE analysis (large deflections, non linear materials and contacts).
- Experience with simulation of viscoelastic polymers.
- Experience with non linear material characterization and creating mathematical models.
- Experience with mass production of injection moulded parts.
