Coloplast has just announced a new corporate strategy STRIVE25 and two themes are at the heart of the strategy: Innovation and Growth.
Coloplast must reach significant growth requirements every year during the coming strategy period and looking beyond 2025 the requirements continue to grow. With increasing demands to clinical/medical and access agendas in the industry, we need to bring products to market that are proven to be clinically differentiated in order to succeed. The only way to sustain above market growth over time is through innovation.
We have therefore created a new corporate function called Innovation with the end-to-end responsibility for defining, developing & delivering the commercial offerings for Coloplast Chronic Care business. An organization with 600+ people full of energy, passion, and innovation capabilities.
As part of this new change, we are looking for a new Senior Vice President for R&D to drive and a set new R&D agenda with passion, impact and followership. The Senior Vice President of R&D reports directly to Nicolai Buhl Andersen, our EVP of Innovation, and becomes a key member of the Innovation Leadership team and in our company.
Taking on the challenge
The R&D organization is overall responsible for developing and building the new innovation solutions defined by our new corporate strategy. Organized today in three main areas, Material Technology, Device Design and the Pilot Plant, the R&D team totals approx. 400 employees.
You are responsible for the continued development and performance of the organization and making sure the organization has the capabilities and cultural agility to continuously adjust to the ambitious innovation agenda in Coloplast. The bar is set high and the ambition is to deliver new and significant better innovation solutions, to the end users, faster incl. digital solutions.
You will be heading the R&D Management Team consisting of three Vice Presidents and are part of the Innovation Leadership Team.

You will foster an environment for result oriented innovation and creativity through a positive, empowering and “hands on” leadership style. With a high degree of technical competence within Medical Device R&D you can both challenge as well as support the teams to reach the ambitions.
R&D will work closely with Pipeline & Portfolio organization to define our innovation pipeline and anchor with our main geographies, ensuring its balance, relevance and commercial value. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Global Operations and the Commercial part of the organization.

Moreover, you bring:
• Senior proven leadership profile with substantial relevant experience from an innovative company, likely from the MedTech sector. Operationally oriented, and highly collaborative
• Multi-disciplinary experience from relevant areas such as development, marketing, regulatory, production and QA
• Knowledge across the whole process of developing medical devices from ideas to authority approvals, production, launch, and line extensions
• Energetic with an ability to simplify complex issues and drive things forward with agility and pragmatism
