Coloplast has just announced a new corporate strategy STRIVE25and two themes are at the heart of the strategy: Innovation and Growth.
Coloplast must reach significant growth requirements every year during the coming strategy period and looking beyond 2025 the requirements continue to grow. With increasing demands to clinical/medical and access agendas in the industry, we need to bring products to market that are proven to be clinically differentiated in order to succeed. The only way to sustain above market growth over time is through innovation.
We have therefore created a new corporate function called Innovation with the end-to-end responsibility for defining, developing & delivering the commercial offerings for Coloplast Chronic Care business. An organization with 600+ people full of energy, passion, and innovation capabilities.
As part of this new change, we are looking for a new Vice President for our Innovation Pilot Plant. The plant is overall responsible for developing robust and efficient manufacturing processes and for transferring these to volume sites around the world, across all innovation projects within Ostomy Care, Continence Care, and Wound & Skin Care. The site is placed in Mørdrup, a few kilometers north of HQ, and numbers approx. 60 engineers and managers, 60 skilled workers and 80 unskilled workers adding up to approx. 200 employees.
Taking on the challenge
You are responsible for the continued development and performance of the organization and making sure the organization has the capabilities and cultural agility to continuously adjust to the ambitious innovation agenda in Coloplast. Pilot Plant is the link between R&D and volume production and is responsible for making sure that products are designed for efficient manufacturing, automation, and sustainability.
You will be heading the Pilot Plant Management Team consisting of six leaders. Likewise, you can look forward to stepping into our senior R&D leadership team, that has the overall responsibility for developing and building Coloplast’s future innovation solutions.
Put your leadership skills into play
You will ensure that the right amount of resources, competencies and the right structures are in place to run the plant effectively. This includes ensuring professional development of employees at all levels, handling reprioritizations across the organization as needed, and making sure continued investments are made in terms of EHS, tools, machines, processes, etc. You will of course also manage and develop the management team and ensure a high engagement amongst the plant’s employees.

- Translate our Innovation agenda into what it means for the plant, and develop annual business plans that enable the continued development and how we work
- Take part in overall R&D pipeline discussions and represent Pilot Plant’s perspective around project risk, plans, progress, etc.
- Ensure compliance with Coloplast Quality Systems, consistent quality of products produced and effective handling of change control and CAPA’s
- Ensure optimal management and resources of local support functions incl. QA/QC, warehousing, planning and maintenance of equipment
- Support your Director of Operations in leading the negotiation and local agreement handling in collaboration with union representatives
- Manage function budget and investment

Moreover, you bring:
- Significant leadership experience including leading leaders
- +10 years of relevant technical experience, e.g. running a manufacturing site, commissioning machines, or developing manufacturing processes
- Experience with R&D and product development from early concept towards volume production in a regulated industry, preferably medical device/pharma
- Experience managing teams with highly skilled specialists and technicians
- A general understanding of quality requirement – ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-18001 and ISO-13485
- Energetic with an ability to simplify complex issues and drive things forward with agility and pragmatism
- Great communication skills, speaking and writing English fluently
