Coloplast has recently announced a new strategy, which is focused on Innovation and Growth, enabling us to help even more users with intimate healthcare needs going forward.
To make this happen, we are looking for a strong technical leader to head up our Mechanical Design team, on this exciting journey.
The role
As part of the new strategy, we have launched our new Innovation unit, with more than 600 employees, targeted to have end-to-end responsibility for our new innovations. An important part of the unit is Mechanical Design, a part of Device Design, with the responsibility of bridging unmet user needs with functionality and manufacturability.
The mechanical design team is responsible for delivering functional and robust design for the chronic business, and participates in the development process from the earliest concept development until CE mark and handover to production.
As Director of Mechanical Design you will:
Your team works in a cross-functional setup covering all aspects of device development and needs to balance the requirements, to ensure optimal performance and robustness of our devices.
You will have interfaces to several stakeholders in the organization ranging from commercial to production. Furthermore, you are targeted with exploring new technologies and examining the possibilities for radically different products and solutions.
Are you the right candidate?
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader (5+ years) with a proven track record in leading a technical team in the MedTech industry, or other regulated industries with highly innovative products and solutions. You have a technical or scientific background and extensive experience within product development, preferably Class I, II and III Medical Devices.
You are pragmatic and can find simple and alternative solutions to complex problems. We also look for a leader with experience leading highly skilled specialists, and who can help grow our people and the organization. You are a good a collaborating across a large and diverse organization and has a proven track record with creating followership.

- Develop the departments and employees competencies and skills
