About the department
The Mechanical Design team has a strong focus on continuously developing better and faster ways of translating needs into specifications, with the best in class tools to support this. Our products are manufactured in the millions, and our team is therefore dedicated to tying the different Coloplast technologies together and producing the final devices with a constant focus on manufacturability, usability and user needs.
The job
You and your colleges are responsible for the mechanical aspect of product development, the documentation package, prototypes and test methods. We work in cross-functional teams and you can expect to be allocated to 1 or 2 projects at a time.
You have a large interface with our process teams and pilot factory, where you discuss needs and capabilities of new, as well as known production processes that are needed to produce your designs. Furthermore, you explore new technologies, examining the possibilities for radically different products.

The job

Your key responsibilities are:
- Design new and innovative mechanical solutions
- Develop methods for identifying specification limits
- Identifying and mitigating possible user risks
- Ensure systematic and creative concept development and evaluation
- Design for high-volume production
- Optimise product quality with DoE, tolerance analysis, 3D scanning and other advanced engineering methods
- Contribute to work process development
- Support the transfer to production
- Create Documentation for Design History File
- Design for Manufacturing
Qualifications
You have:
- An educational background within engineering
- +5 years of experience with mechanical design
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply these in practice
- Simple planning skills, for driving and aligning own and other close stakeholder tasks
- Speak and write English fluently
You ideally also have experience with:
- 3D CAD, injection moulding and volume production
- Design Control, Medical Device Regulation and ISO 13485
- Medical devices in class I, II and III
- Leading a project team
