Working at Maersk Growth means you are working on something pretty exciting: shaping the future of trade by acting as a catalyst for the next generation of trade and logistics power players! Founded in 2017, we are a team of 20 passionate individuals, based out of our Growth HQ in Copenhagen, working with a portfolio of 28 startups we are pretty fond of!
Maersk Growth is a CVC and the external innovation arm of A.P. Moller – Maersk. We invest in and partner with startups to digitize, democratize and decarbonize logistics. As a strategic investor we provide funding for startups working in the transport and logistics space. We support thinkers and doers who focus on global challenges by nurturing startups that apply new business models and technologies to transform trade – but our buck doesn’t stop there.
We augment every dollar we invest with our expertise, our customer base (we have +70,000) and global reach. In addition, by mobilizing our dedicated colleagues across Maersk, we empower startups to build synergies that sharpen their competitive edge. It's what we call bringing value beyond capital.

As our Research Analyst you will be our heart and soul of research and data analytics, driving strategic insights for Maersk through our engagement in the external ecosystem. Over the course of a week, we imagine you will:
o Research and track emerging technology trends, key markets and companies from the start-up ecosystem focused on trends in transport and logistics
o Pioneer new research topics on themes you see as upcoming
o Write digestible reports and whitepapers outlining the key strategic insights for decision makers and executives in Maersk to generate new ideas and support strategic decision-making on our future bets
o Build conviction to champion your researched points of view to inform our investment decisions, while adapting to ever changing information

- Flexible work: we love hanging out at our office, but you can work from home when and why you want to (we trust you!)
- Quarterly team days and normally (when the world is open) we do one of these around the world
- Great snack cabinets (we have a Head of Snacks and consider that a critical position for team well-being)
- A very passionate team – current highlights are quiz masters, bakers, runners and dog lovers.

We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:
o Have a contagious passion for research and going deep: You are a true startup/tech geek passionate about all things around innovation
o Possess deep intellectual curiosity to discover emerging trends (e.g. autonomous transport) and new products and a proven ability to understand the dynamics around new companies, domains & technologies
o Excellent writing skills and comfort with especially Excel. If you can rule PowerPoint too – well that’s a plus!
o Have the ability to synthesize data and qualitative insights and develop meaningful viewpoints and prescriptive insights (not just a download of observations)
o Have actual research experience in an academic or commercial setting and ideally a track record of publications
o Have some startup experience! If you don’t – then we are confident that a strong drive and interest in exploring the external innovation ecosystem can balance it out!
o Are comfortable working independently, structuring your research and plowing through the details, while keeping the big picture in mind
Above being said - we know that diversity makes for the best teams, problem-solving and creative thinking. We are dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and believe in mindset (drive!) and attitude more than on-paper-experience.
