Maersk Investment Analysis (IA) plays a pivotal role in the journey – being the focal point and center of excellence for analysis of all future investment and divestment decisions.
The work here is spanning a broad range of strategic investment decisions both organically within Maersk’s traditional assets such as ships and container terminals, but also with high focus on the growth journey within our wider Logistics business, and here spanning both organic and inorganic growth. A key part of the growth journey here is also development of tools and trainings for the global finance organization in Maersk. Further the team owns Investment governance and are ensuring high quality supporting documents on all cases for approval by Executive Management.

Key responsibilities
As an Investment Analyst, you will work with multiple aspects of our Maersk Investment Practice.
You will typically support the other team members on a range of diverse investment cases, and aim is for you to develop to be an integrated part of the team on equal terms with our full-time employees. Through the work on investment cases, you will be exposed to:
- Developing business cases
- Developing and reviewing financial models
- Project due diligence
- Preparing decision material for executive management
In the role you will interact with stakeholders across all of our business, spanning Finance and Business Development teams in various Maersk brands, M&A, Strategy and a range of key support functions. Through cross-team cooperation we strive to cover all relevant perspectives of our many investment projects – ultimately ensuring a holistic view on profit, cost, revenue, commercial and strategic fit from a company perspective.
You will be part of a strong core team of investment experts in the center of our Finance organization with influence and involvement directly towards the Maersk CFO. You will be working with all levels of our organization requiring clear understanding of level of quality and commitment required to meet ambitious targets and constantly improve our business and investment projects.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is a finance student with a keen interest in the field of investment analysis and financial modelling. Typically, you would just have started your master’s degree, and you would have a solid understanding of financial analysis from your studies and/or other relevant student positions.
We expect you to have an analytical mindset as well as basic understanding of financial modelling, combined with a can-do attitude and a self-starter mentality being able to see opportunities and invite yourself to the table.
You are used to work independently, and you have effective communication and stakeholder management skills. The corporate language is English, so you should be fluent in oral as well as written English.
