We are currently looking for a curious and thorough Compliance Analyst to join the Legal and Compliance team in Maersk Energy Transition with a special responsibility related to KYC and Sanction Compliance.
We offer
A super exciting role in the Compliance function, where the overall mission of the is to identify, manage and mitigate compliance risks while providing advice and guidance to the business in compliance related areas.
You will be running the day-to-day operation of KYC processes and Sanction Screenings, however since the team is responsible for Legal and Compliance in Energy Transition there will be possibilities to do cross function tasks.
Your direct reporting will be to the Compliance Manager, however you will be part of a larger and diverse legal and compliance team with significant experience and knowledge in compliance and legal related work in a truly international organization. In addition, you will become part of an inter-group and cross-border network with focus on compliance related issues, which will ensure and enhance your capabilities within the Compliance field.
This role will be based in Copenhagen.
Key responsibilities
Your focus area and success criteria will be to ensure onboarding of counterparties and run the KYC process, perform Sanction Screenings and to advise and support the business with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to KYC and Sanctions.
Your responsibility areas will among others be:
- KYC, hereunder screening for reputational risk and sanctions. Gather and supply information from/to third parties to ensure internal and external compliance
- Run in-dept compliance review of high-risk counterparties and projects and handle all communication to stakeholders in Maersk Energy Transition and within the wider Maersk Group.
You will take part in ensuring an effective training and awareness program for employees in Maersk Energy Transition regarding increasing knowledge and promoting a culture of compliance.
Furthermore, you will participate in the development of the Compliance function.
Who are we looking for
We assume you have a relevant educational background, i.e. a bachelor and/or master in law, international business, regulatory requirements or des like.
You will undergo a substantial on-the-job training, so the right candidate would not necessarily need any prior professional experience in the field of regulatory compliance.
Furthermore you:
- Have knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in an international organization;
- Are familiar with Compliance issues and challenges specific to the environment; previous role in a regulatory authority is a plus;
- Are fluent in English;
- Have a structured and methodical approach to your work;
- Are at ease with basic IT tools (MsOfffice).
You must possess a resilient can-do attitude and be able to navigate in a complex and fast paced environment with following personal skills:
Analytical / Inquisitive / Assertive. Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Ability and willingness to question assumptions, perform critical analysis and provide challenge to management (and colleagues) when appropriate.
Proactive / Autonomous. Able to operate with appropriate autonomy, take ownership of key areas of responsibility and meet challenging deadlines.
Good Communication / Negotiation Skills. Able to clearly and concisely communicate with staff at all levels, in both oral and written forms. Able to cooperate with the Business while maintaining a Compliance culture. Able to debate and explain complex topics and principles. Comfortable working with cross-border teams.
