We offer:

Maersk, a global leader in integrated logistics, is seeking a Senior L&S Investment Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving high-quality investment processes as part of our overall logistics strategy. The successful candidate will contribute to long-term asset footprint planning and sustainable EBIT growth through robust investment proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investment Analysis and Transaction Support (60%)

  • Lead due diligence processes on investment proposals and conduct commercial evaluations of proposed customer and strategic transactions, including key commercial terms.

  • Review cost modeling, pricing, and transaction structuring, collaborating with Regional Investment FBPs, project teams, Region Heads of Finance, and Heads of Product.

  • Provide advisory support to project teams and Regional Investment FBPs on analyses, structures, and data points to enhance business proposals and project outcomes.

  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder groups to analyze proposals and make structured recommendations to the L&S Investment Committee.

  • Ensure business cases are well-documented, well-supported, and aligned with Maersk’s business rules regarding financial return expectations and commercial risk.


2. Investment Process and Framework (30%)

  • Identify opportunities to further develop the investment process according to organizational requirements, working with global stakeholders, including operations finance, commercial finance, and the Corporate Investment Analysis (IA) team.

  • Support the team head in positioning the L&S investment framework to support long-term strategic goals in the overall logistics strategy.

  • Drive the L&S Investment Follow-Up (IFU) process and embed this practice in the L&S investment framework.

  • Support capital planning, capital tracking, and strategic planning projects at the HQ level.


3. Community Building, Training, and Development (10%)

  • Educate stakeholders across the organization on the L&S investment framework.

  • Lead the investment finance community with all regional investment FBPs to facilitate dialogue between HQ and regional agendas and discuss topics of interest.

  • Ensure the community remains connected to key drivers in the L&S investment framework.


What are we looking for:

  • Pro-active finance professional with solid financial and commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in senior finance roles within multinational logistics organizations (including group or regional head-office level).

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • 10+ years of relevant financial experience and degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA) is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand large and complex transactions from both financial and commercial perspectives, and identify issues with corresponding solutions to mitigate risk.

  • Strong understanding of principles of corporate finance and investment analysis.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to concisely describe business transactions and key issues to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop strong business relationships within all levels of the organization, including senior executives from different functional and line management responsibilities.

  • Positive, confident, and customer-oriented attitude.
