Come join Svitzer as our new Business Development Manager and help us identify and develop growth opportunities for Svitzer globally! You will play a key role in the management of our project pipeline, create new tools for commercial proposals and be the lead in developing our commercial initiatives.
This is a new role in our Commercial organization with direct reporting line to our CCO. You will have a unique opportunity to get a huge impact on our commercial strategic projects and your tasks will include the management and further development of customer value propositions including tender strategy, solution development, pricing of services and so much more. You will become a part of an international team in our HQ in Copenhagen and be surrounded by competent and fun-loving colleagues in a global organization with an ambitious growth strategy.
Grow our Pipeline
•Source, vet and maintain opportunities for Svitzer’s project pipeline in accordance with our strategy in alignment with CCO and the leadership team
•Progress opportunities through stages of maturity through regular customer interactions and development of customer specific value propositions
•Develop relationship with key target customers and ensure that Svitzer is top of mind for potential customers and business opportunities globally
Tender Management
•Ensure high-quality, consistent and achievable proposals and tender submissions, rooted in the development and maintenance of a standardized tender process, structure and content consisting of a toolkit with guidelines, project management tools, tender templates, Svitzer supporting attachments and internal business case templates. Be a key member of the tender negotiation team with subject matter expertise in pricing and commercial issues
•Be the Project Manager during all stages of a tender for assigned projects and drive global collaboration with the global Business Development Community ensuring best practice sharing across functions and regions
•Drive continuous improvement by contributing with ideas on how to improve the tendering process as well as Svitzer’s overall proposal quality involving relevant internal stakeholders.
Business Cases
•Responsible for preparation, vetting and submission of business cases (financial model and business case memo) for new investments;
•Take a lead in ensuring cost leadership and cost accuracy methodology is applied on all business cases and early involvement of all decision influencers to enable smooth approval process
•Ongoing analysis of market and competitors to ensure competitive pricing and suggest ideas for optimization and efficiencies to improve chance of sharp costings.
Customers
•Keeping up to date with country, industry and customer development, potentially including direct responsibility for 1-3 key account customers
You are natural self-starter with a high drive and able to work with tight deadlines. You have excellent analytical skills, some experience with project management and possess great stakeholder management skills. You are a keen team player and a natural leader with excellent communication and interpersonal talents. You love a challenge and can work with ambiguity and independently with your projects.
Moreover, we imagine that you have;
•A Bachelor or master’s degree in Business, Finance or similar
•Three to five years’ experience in business development, tender management, client facing roles or consultancy.
•Excellent MS Office suite skills.
•In-depth knowledge and experience in financial management, business case preparation and corporate structuring.
•Experience in packaging and presenting business models and strategy papers to senior management.
•Appetite for expanding areas of expertise and responsibility.
