MONIES is a Danish jewelry company, founded in 1973 by Gerda and Nikolai Monies. Although both are classically trained goldsmiths, it was their interest and love for unconventional natural materials and oversized avantgarde jewellery that made them found MONIES. It has since then grown into an internationally renowned jewellery company - brand of the year 2019 at the Elle Style Awards - known for its elegant, bold and innovative jewellery. The creative goal of MONIES has always been the fusion of art and craft and the design expression of MONIES is unique in a global context. Many of the couture pieces have therefore become collector’s items for people and museums.
MONIES is jewellery created from a variety of natural materials sourced from around the world. From the mountains of Afghanistan to the Tundra in Siberia. The materials range from different types of horn, wood, shells and precious stones to amber, mammoth, fossils, leather and much more. The unique and handcrafted jewellery is designed and created at the beautiful workshop right by the Copenhagen Waterfront. The two sons Karl and Niels Monies have over the last couple of years become involved in the family business.
MONIES is now looking for a Brand Director. The coming Brand Director must have an international commercial background and fit into a culture of design, passion and dedication with focus on high-end lifestyle brands. As our coming Brand Director your mission is to develop and expand the position of MONIES and to bring us to the next level internationally. You will report to the owners of MONIES.
THE POSITION
As Brand Director at MONIES, you will become a very central person at MONIES and secure close collaboration across the company from design and production to marketing and sales. Your main responsibility is to create growth internationally in collaboration with our Sales & Retail Manager, who works closely with our agents. Your excellent skills in formulating and executing sales and marketing strategies will separate you from other candidates for this attractive position.
In this position, you can widen your responsibilities, according to your results and performance. You will work closely with a team of dedicated, highly competent and very enthusiastic colleagues, supported by open and positive minded founders of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To identify and execute on growth options for MONIES internationally.
- Develop and execute “go-to-market practices” and reach budgets.
- To define and implement relevant communication and product target groups, by constantly focusing on the strengthening of the “footprint” of MONIES internationally.
- Establish and develop partnerships internationally.
- Monitor sales performance and analyse portfolio performance across markets.
- Ensure good and positive cooperation internally at MONIES.
- Being a visible Brand Director showing the way through dedication, passion and results.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- A commercial experience and a toolbox with skills to use in an international environment.
- Skills to see and exploit the potential of MONIES.
- A proven track record with excellent results from high-end jewel, lifestyle or fashion brands.
- Experience in defining and executing growth strategies.
- Commercially astute and of an entrepreneurial character with a strong sense for business development and new business opportunities.
- You understand the entire value chain in a lifestyle company.
- Highly skilled communicator at all levels, internally as well as externally.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
PERSONAL SKILLS
- You have a mature, informal and calm personality.
- You are empathetic with a strong emotional intelligence.
- You are competitive and you possess a personal drive that is without comparison.
