Technical writing with back-end focus and driver of cross functional projects
As a Senior Technical Communicator, your most important goal is to make our customers and partners self-supporting. You will achieve this goal by planning, producing, and delivering comprehensive, task-based technical documentation and user assistance related to the more complex back-end/server parts of our product range. At the same time, you will be trusted to drive content improvement projects that involve multiple stakeholders internally and externally – to bridge developers and customers.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Plan, produce, and deliver comprehensive, task-based documentation
- Drive cross-team and cross-site initiatives and projects – to improve our information architecture, doc-set and to create better user experiences
- Participate in developing and enhancing navigation and search capabilities of our doc-set
- Contribute to defining ontologies and taxonomies
- Research customer feedback and implement your learnings in the documentation
- Edit and restructure legacy content so that it complies with our writing standards and user needs
Your road to success depends on your ability to work hands-on as a Technical Communicator, while at the same time leading and driving cross-organisational projects/initiatives. If you are motivated by growing into a role with more leadership, this job is your perfect launch pad. You can look forward to approx. 10-15 travel days per year to, for example, visit colleagues at our development sites in Sofia, Bulgaria or our offices in Portland, Oregon in the US.
Proactive initiator with 8+ years’ experience as a Technical Writer/Communicator
As a highly experienced Technical Communicator, you naturally have the sense for detail that it takes to deliver accurate information. For this job, you must also like to be a proactive initiator. This means to be the person who defines the road ahead and gathers the right people to find the necessary answers, and to come up with tangible solutions such as our newly launched online portal. This calls for your ability to communicate and build relations with many different people across professional and cultural borders. Additionally, your CV comprises:
- A degree within communication, computer science, engineering or similar
- 8+ years’ experience as a Technical Writer/Communicator
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: network technology, IP technology, and hardware & software infrastructure, video surveillance software, cloud technology
- Experience with structured authoring tools, such as Author-it and MadCap Flare
- Experience within project management of people and tasks
- Skills within or motivation for learning scripting such as JavaScript
