The position
As our new histology lab technician, you will be trusted to plan and execute experiments covering the entire histological workflow including tasks such as:
You are expected to engage method development in close collaboration with our highly skilled team of lab technicians and scientists.
You will be part of preparing crucial histological stains that are used in all projects in cell therapy to determine cell identity and distribution as well as transplanted graft sizes. You will be encouraged to bring forward refinements and improvements to all aspects of histology processes and protocols and will be an active part of a histology team where we rely on each other to be able to run both routine tasks and at the same time develop both new methods, protocols, and way of working.
Qualifications
You hold a biomedical laboratory scientist, laboratory technician or other related life science background. Experience within histology technologies, process and protocols is a requirement. Experience within all tasks listed is not a requirement.
You are a strong communicator with high energy and curiosity to learn new things and adapt to a constantly changing scientific environment. You thrive when working in teams and enjoy making decisions together.
About the department
The Department of Cell Imaging and Pharmacology in Måløv, Denmark, is part of the Novo Nordisk Cell Therapy R&D unit. To drive and support cell therapy projects, we work closely with our two sister research departments: Stem Cell Biology and Cell Therapy Discovery. You will be a member of a dedicated and expanding histology team of 4 colleagues plus 14 colleagues working with in vivo animal studies and 5 colleagues working with cell formulation and delivery. We focus on collaboration, both within Novo Nordisk and with external academic and non-academic partners. Our aim is to develop cell-based therapies by delivering high quality histology and imaging result, enabling the right decisions and the right time. We are driven by curiosity and the desire to make a difference.

The position

- Animal takedown and organ dissection
- Tissue processing and sectioning
- IHC and ISH stains and advanced multiplex combinations using autostainers
- Slide scanning
- Tissue clearing and iDISCO staining for 3D light sheet microscopy
