We are looking to hire a talented histologist with experience in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) protocol development and image analysis to support progression of cell therapy projects in Cell Therapy R&D at Novo Nordisk. The Position
We are expanding our team and are looking for a histologist with expertise in IHC, ISH (RNAscope), advanced multiplex combination, and image analysis using platforms such as Visiopharm. Your main task will be to contribute to the progression of our cell therapy projects towards clinical development. You will be part of our internal and external project teams and be responsible for histological designs, read-outs and protocol development in addition providing histology evaluation, insights and sparing with collaborators and contract research organizations. The position requires curiosity, adaptability, and a creative mindset together with good time and resource management skills. You need to thrive in an environment where we work team based together with skilled techs making good communication a key skill.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in pharmaceutical, biological, biomedical, veterinarian sciences, or related field. Experience and understanding of histological techniques and study designs specifically experience with development of histological protocols (histochemical stains/IHC/ISH), quantitative image analysis. In addition, we are working with stereology, AI-assisted image analysis, and 3D light-sheet imaging and expertise in these areas will be seen as a plus. Moreover, knowledge within the fields of Parkinson’s disease, Type 1 diabetes, chronic heart failure, or dry age-related macular degeneration is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

Department of Cell Imaging, Delivery & Pharmacology is a dynamic and diverse department in Cell Therapy R&D, a Transformational Research Unit (TRU) within Novo Nordisk. The TRU is unique in the sense that it covers the full R&D value chain, which means we function as an integrated unit, spanning from early research to GMP manufacturing, non-clinical and clinical development in the same organization. Our department is part of the Research organization based in Måløv, Denmark and we are experts in histology, pathology, Imaging, cell delivery and in vivo assessment of cell functionalities. We are a histology & imaging team consisting of 3 scientists and 3 technicians. We put emphasis on empowerment and high degree of transparency in all that we do and offer a dynamic and flexible working environment with opportunities for professional development and cutting-edge scientific challenges in a positive work environment.
