Laboratory Technician for Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to work on Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS) application and technology development. If you find tasks like these exciting and challenging, you may be our new colleague.
About the department
The Microbial Expression Department (MiE) is part of Recombinant Technologies (RT) and has microbial strain engineering and protein production as core tasks. The primary responsibility of MiE is to ensure timely support to our research projects with a broad range of protein expression technologies, strain optimization tools and production strains.

The position
We work on enablement and optimization of expression from microbial hosts, and we apply LC-/MS for characterizing productivity and product quality throughout our workflows. You will therefore play a central role while working on applying and developing LC/MS analyses in our research projects.
Our instrument park consists primarily of Agilent systems: five 1290 Infinity UPLC systems, three 6230 TOFs and one 6545XT AdvanceBio LC/Q-TOF. In addition, we are currently implementing a RapidFire high-throughput MS system in the lab.
The successful candidate will work across the department and will interact closely with colleagues from around the area to devise and execute appropriate experimental strategies and generate data using our LC-MS equipment. You will perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance and when appropriate, request help from service technicians.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate is:
• An excellent Laboratory Technician (AP Graduate in Chemical and Biotechnical Science (Laborant), Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (Bioanalytiker) or Bachelor of Chemical and Biotechnical Technology and Food Technology (Professionsbachelor i laboratorieteknologi)) with previous LC/MS equipment experience – preferably with Agilent systems and the accompanying software (e.g., MassHunter).
• You take a practical approach to your job and preferably have experience from research.
• You are collaborative, service minded and take pride on delivering and documenting your results timely and thorough, while knowing that your results are defining for the delivery pace from our department.
• You have solid experience with IT-based data handling, evaluation, and reporting as this is a central part of the job.
• You can work in diverse and cross functional teams with multiple nationalities and can communicate in English on a professional level both written and verbally.
It will be considered an advantage if you have experience with programming and the application of liquid handlers for sample handling (e.g., Beckman Coulter BioMek, Dynamic Devices Lynx, Tecan).
